"Inside each of us is a natural-born storyteller, waiting to be released."

Whenever I get the opportunity to work around/ within a community in my filmmaking processes, I grab it with both hands and try to inspire them in my own small ways.

Just a little recap of work lately, filming multiple side events during the #AfricaForwardSummit in Nairobi and learning from respected business leaders.
The icing on the cake was randomly reuniting and collaborating with so many old friends and colleagues.
A good time was had!

Kisumu en ber ahinyaβοΈ
This should mean this is a very beautiful place in Luo language. I hope Google translate did right by me on this.

We sail on.
It has been a while since I made a post here but just to break the silence, here is a random photo of a fisherman heading to work. Shot on phone recently in Kisumu County, Kenya, on the shores of Lake Victoria.
I tried to engage him to get his story but he was on the clock and his focus was steady. And so should yours be. And mine.

Office lately, filming for the #BOHEMIAproject in Kwale together with this amazing team πͺπΎ
We have lots of fun, sad, challenging, inspiring back stories that we shared on location in the making of this short film that we wish y'all would know about π and we just might tell them soon!
Meanwhile if you haven't, check out the work we managed to do. Link on my bio.

A few throwbacks as I worked on 'The Turtle Protector' film, OUT NOW on @scientific_american π¬
SWIPE βΆοΈ
1 - A boat ride with KWS officers (and Sammy, seated on the opposite side) doing patrol.
2 - Sammy Safari and I after our first interview.
3 - Observing the excavation process of baby turtles (I got so drawn into this magical moment, at some point I forgot I was filming π)
4 - Filming with the Msitu Women's Group, who are doing a really great job in environmental conservation.
Shout out to @bahari_hai for doing this work selflessly and thanks to @videoconsortium for the support in telling this story.
In case you haven't watched the film, makosaaa!
