Incase ya missed it 🤣 I ran my first event 10k run at @brightonmarathonweekend for a charity and organisation close to my heart @epilepsyaction Having been diagnosed with focal epilepsy at the age of 23 it meant the world to me to give back to an organisation supporting those with the condition but also educating everyone. This would not have been possible without the amazing support of @acorngoesoutdoors who travelled from Kettering to be there and run with me for safety reasons and we both had the most amazing weekend. And of course the support of my amazing husbandski @adam_olechnowicz for putting up with my run obsession and supporting me throughout. We were both nervous of these photos coming through but they are amazing and what memories. Today, on International Nurses Day, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to every nurse, in every role, in every setting, across every part of the world. Nursing is not an easy career. It asks so much of us emotionally, physically and personally. But it is also one of the greatest privileges imaginable. This year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future.” feels especially important. The future of healthcare depends on compassionate, skilled and courageous nurses who continue to show up, even on the hardest days. A special thank you today to all international nurses who have made the UK their home and chosen to care for our communities. Your knowledge, resilience, kindness and cultural perspectives enrich our profession beyond words, and our healthcare system would simply not be the same without you. No matter where our journeys began, we should all be incredibly proud to call ourselves nurses. Still feels completely surreal… ✨ This week I was finally able to collect my national Chief Nursing Officer Gold Award certificate and badge, alongside my lovely colleague @netce_sia , who was also recognised with an award from our Chief Nurse, @maggieadavies1 💙 Being able to share such a special moment together made it even more meaningful. Moments like this remind me just how lucky I am to work alongside such inspiring, compassionate and hardworking people. Even now, it still doesn’t quite feel real holding the certificate and badge in my hands. I’m honestly just so grateful. This award is not mine alone, it belongs to every single person who has supported me, guided me, encouraged me and believed in me throughout my journey. I would never have reached this moment without the kindness, opportunities and support of so many incredible people around me. A huge thank you as well to the amazing AHP team who have embraced me as an honorary AHP and made me feel so valued and supported. I’m incredibly lucky to work amongst such wonderful people ❤️ Thank you for being part of my journey. I’m not sure this has quite sunk in yet… 💙 Today I received a Chief Nursing Officer Gold Award for Outstanding Service to Nursing from My Trust @uhsussex and @nhsengland I’m still a little lost for words. Thank you to @maggieadavies1 and everyone at @nhsengland for this prestigious honour. Hearing the nomination, understanding the “why” behind it… honestly It was emotional, humbling, and something I will carry with me for a very long time. And to receive this award whilst presenting some of my work on the international stage at the @etnatrannursing 2026 conference has made it both more special and surreal. I feel so incredibly grateful. To @macaninche , Rebecca Fillary and @instakram87 — thank you for seeing me, for believing in me, and for taking the time to nominate me. That means more than I can ever fully explain. To everyone who has been part of my journey so far especially at @uhsussex — thank you for your support, your encouragement, and for lifting me up along the way.
