This is a hands-on role assisting with brewing, cellar work, tank cleaning, dry hopping, transfers, packaging, and keeping our brewery dialed in. Experience preferred (not required), strong work ethic and passion for the craft required.

Kids grow up too fast.
I always wanted Shea to have that job every kid should have growing up — the fun job at the cool place. A place where you build friendships and real connections in the community.
The kid was 16 and immediately wanted to make his own money. Did he need a job? Probably not. But it’s important to learn what real life is about. Mom and dad aren’t always going to be there to take care of every situation. Learning how to balance school, sports, work, and personal life is part of growing up and an important lesson.
I’m so grateful for the HSS family — a place I’ve loved since I was a kid. An HB staple. They gave him his first opportunity to work and learn. He was given the opportunity to work at both locations on Main Street and in Sunset Beach!
Today is his last day at his first job. He’s been there almost two years and learned a lot, and we’re grateful he got to be part of such an awesome family.
Shea graduates from high school soon, and now it’s time for him to learn my side of the business. He’ll be working with me on a few of my projects as he starts the next chapter.
Couldn’t be more proud of the young man he’s becoming. 🤙
Thank you to HSS for taking Shea in, teaching him, and giving him that opportunity. We’ll always be grateful. We love HSS and the HB surf community, and we’ll always be a huge supporter.
