On the way to the party, they have a series of seemingly banal conversations that reveal great truths about their relationships. Hidden underneath what the characters say about the books they read, the nature of love and older siblings is a tale of three friends ultimately falling out of love with each other.

SHOOK is out in 🇨🇦 theatres tomorrow with @elevation_pics ! The brainchild of @moviewala + the first (but not last) film/TV project from @whotookadnan + a killer collaboration between @filmforge @karenharnisch and @scarbpics ! I am feeling nostalgic and endlessly proud of our beautiful ensemble so here’s how we found em: I first saw @saamertime on HBO’s RUN and thought “Who is this hot talented man opposite Merritt Wever in one scene and does he have a Canadian passport?” Thankfully I knew his manager’s assistant (@razsrealm <3) who confirmed “yes he does” back in 2022! Two years later, the stars aligned for him to be our ASH. Though debatable whether it was the Best Picture of the year, @amy4syth ‘s performance in CODA is not! She has been stealing scenes for years and was our dream CLAIRE. The set visit from her longtime agent and my former @shari_quallenberg was a full-circle moment and our friendship makes me 🥲 @pamelamalasinha is my favourite Toronto theatre actor. Her solo show CRASH (not to be confused with the Worst Best Picture) was a game-changer and her trailblazing artistry is second-to-none. Who else could play NISHA? And lastly, Bernard White was the IMDBPro discovery of a lifetime. A Hollywood legend who has appeared in Marvel and the Matrix, Bernie is as humble, smart and warm as they come. @shomaridowner and @faizanacts kill me in this film — comedic geniuses both — and the entire film is populated with wonderful local actors who bring this Scarborough story to life. Grateful to this film for introducing me to so many beloved collaborators including @socacola @alisonkayealmeida @jessegriffithscasting @kalaisan13 @shaunrykiss @_jpg.tiff @thewilderstv @isseyum @peter_hadfield @nicole_simmons__ @lucyveale @rory.dann @alexordanis @marksirju @claire.e.lee @bethwarrian & many more!
