As landscape architects, we sometimes joke that we know “a little about a lot,” since our work requires a passing understanding of a broad range of topics. Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to learn more about metal finishing from the real experts at Duncan Galvanizing, a 135-year-old business in Everett, MA. What an absolute joy it is to see the park decked out in its holiday best! It probably isn’t much of an exaggeration to say that 99.99% of AI is garbage, but very occasionally, it spews out something worth a laugh. In our first intense (lol) planning session for this year’s BSLA Gingerscape competition, we decided to input the prompt into AI and see what it produced. Most of it was stupid, but one little pun stuck with us. Without further ado, we present: Hansel and…..Pretzel! We had a great time constructing this woodland “landscape”. On Friday, we had the honor of joining with the whole project team at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mohawk Tannery Remediation & Redevelopment in Nashua, NH. The remediation work is set to begin before the end of the year, preparing the way for the construction of over 500 new homes, public open space and river access on this long abandoned and off-limit site. #brownfieldremediation #housing #landscapearchitecture

Sixteen years in the making! So excited to celebrate the ribbon cutting for Elizabeth Brook Apartments in Stow, MA. Congratulations to everyone who worked tirelessly over the years to make this vision a reality! We’re honored to have played a part in bringing this much-needed affordable senior housing to life. Projects like this set a great example for communities across Massachusetts.
