About the title: I heard about someone who would title their songs by opening a random book and picking a phrase. As a person who struggles with titles, and an enjoyer of whimsical fate, I gave it a try. And the page opened to and put my finger down had a passage about grocery shopping and “choosing the staple” ingredients/ items. So there you have it- it’s about grocery shopping.

Russick Smith is a Fort Collins based musician who shares his work locally and around the world in effort "to fight cynicism with wonder," as he puts it. He plays anything with strings (and then some), and generously gifted us a song composed specially for Impulse after director Amy Smith asked him for something funky, vibrant, and playful. I appreciate all of the care and concern people have been showing me in this situation.
