What lies between girlhood and womanhood - a poetic short inspired by the themes in my poetry collection - Tigress with Wings this poem isn’t in the book but I’ve written it after the collection. Tigress with Wings is an ode to the betweenness of being a girl-woman, the quest to be understood, longing of love, questioning everything, only to know that true love comes from within. How woman artists can inspire and teach you- and sometimes you realise you don’t want to repeat their mistakes too. This is a collection that made me learn and unlearn so much it’s been on a such a journey of almost 6 years to complete. I don’t quite know the answer to my question of what is between girlhood and womanhood perhaps I’ll never know and like I said perhaps I don’t need to know. Yes I’m a true Pisces I guess… turning 30 in a few days and quite honestly I don’t know where that girl went but she’s back, she’s in the pages of Tigress with Wings. Link in my bio to purchase 🫶🏽✨✨✨
