Completely horrified by this killer movie, and inspired by the difficult to impossible standards for 'looking' beautiful, 'The Substance' presents the ying yang of being a woman? A girl? or whatever is socially appealing of a skin to wear outside and the constraints of ageing that makes the pepped up skin fall off of you.
My addition to the sea of fan art is a play on the 'you are one' rule. Depicting the layout of the Ace card that is only one inside the activator bottle. The colors from the movie are definitely my cup of fluid 🍵

Since the end product was a music album I spent a good amount of time on lyrics and the visuals (around 3 4 weeks for writing aaah). I m glad I took the risk and explored the medium as extensively as the time and resources allowed for.
