I started working on the in another world album on maiden lane in Kingston, I was touring a lot and felt inspired by all the bands I was playing in and with and I always wrote songs anyways even though I mostly play drums. Then got in touch with Rick because I remembered listening to his the firs album when I lived in lanesville and liking it and was a florist fan and heard he had a tape machine. We recorded everything in his apartment in Albany and it felt so good to focus on my art for awhile and I was glad to have help. Rick played almost all the keys in the album, the elegant piano and wurli everywhere and whale sounds at the end of blanket, some drums too. Did one session with otto playing drums which was insane he’s one of the world’s greatest drummers and Eric who I knew from playing bass in the jazz band at my high school incredible bass player and got a bunch of live band takes and I think live vocal too focus blue, blanket, couple more maybe. Thanks for listening thanks to woodsist for giving it some attention it’s super sweet I’m psyched to play some shows. 🫶 1 - writing keyboard parts in my old apt 2 - Ricky 3 - mic stand for demoing 4 - OG album art it’s some rogue install at one of the far out trails at shaupeneak ridge 5 - crys notes 6 - conga I borrowed from Dan 7 - ricks drums

Welcome @rubyofthanks to the Woodsist Family! New LP in the works. Listen to their debut album In Another World now and catch them at Woodsist Festival this September. Link in bio Self-released in 2020 and reissued as a limited cassette by Primordial Void in 2024, Andy Weaver’s In Another World has quietly lurked in the muddy waters of our current audio ecosystem. When it surfaced for me, it felt like an unexpected balm — familiar, welcoming, and instantly something I wanted to be part of. Someone I’ve known through friends and bandmates. A Swiss Army knife, a jack-of-all-trades, a carpenter, a house painter, a ballplayer — all of which inform this warm, homegrown record. I can’t wait for you to hear it. We plan on a vinyl edition in the future, but first Andy has been working on new material, which we’ll share soon. In the meantime, catch Ruby of Thanks on tour in May, including a hometown show for John Andrews’ record release at Tubby’s, and at the annual Woodsist Festival in September. Give it a listen and stay tuned. Songs and Music by Andy Weaver @ajosephweaver Recording and Music by Rick Spataro @onlynessmusic With drums by @ottohauserdrums (3, 4, 5) Bass from Eric Margan (4) Artwork by Rakel Stammer @obsessed_press Recorded in Albany, NY May 2019 – May 2020 by Rick Spataro

New show alert! On sale now! John Andrews has spent the past few years tucked away in Red Hook, Brooklyn—a neighborhood that sits just beyond the natural drift of the city. Once shaped by maritime industry and later a haven for artists in search of vast warehouse space, its history and isolation give it a quiet magnetism. Streetsweeper, the fifth album by John Andrews & The Yawns, reflects that vantage point—tranquil, self-contained, and curious about the movements most people overlook. Sarah La Puerta is an artist, musician, and calligrapher who works in different dimensions. She was born in New Orleans, raised in Texas and now lives in rural upstate New York. Her favorite tree is the weeping willow, and her favorite flowers are water lilies. Ruby of Thanks is everyone’s friend Andy Weaver’s project that will be your new favorite band.
