A Special Edition treasure and the first in a new series of ‘Jewels For Art’s Sake’! The Belarusian Ballerina Clown Cuff 🩰 🎪 Inspired by the ballerina costumes of Léon Bakst, the fashion design of Erté, and the detail, maximalism, and sensuality of India, as well as an imagined dancer wearing a pearly silk clown costume edged with a pair of these cuffs—perhaps a matching ruff... Léon was born in Belarus, as was my maternal great grandfather, and so I like to pretend there is a Belarusian ballerina hidden inside of me, waiting for her matching clown cuffs so she can dazzle her audience... You will find her tucked away on our OOAK & Special Editions page via the website ✨
How I turned a cotton ruffle into a metal one ✨ I am 🦆ing rubbish at filming my process. You can really tell I’m closer to 40 than 30 when it comes to my painfully shonky content creation 🫠 but here goes! If you look closely you can see me slowly injecting blue injection wax into the red soft wax from behind the cloth to fill in each ruffle/pleat one by one. Just pressing red wax onto the back of the cotton wasn’t enough so I had to fill each undulation with wax❣️It was worth it 😎

Maruja Mora! One of a kind. Two days work just for one design that can only be sold one time. The thing that’s hard to communicate is the huge amount of time one spends just looking and thinking and moving one piece around. There’s the drawing and then the skeleton in wax. More looking, more editing, more head scratching. The countless elements that get made but don’t get used. Some designers just flow and keep everything that comes out. That’s not me. I flow and then pause. Consider and then dive back in 🩵 🎥 @abig_sinclair
The Maruja Mora Earrings 🩵🪸A One of A Kind design that plays on the idea of lovers lips or cowboy hats, breathing a kind of dancer’s magic. The colour palette of turquoise and coral instantly transports me beneath a warm Spanish sun and evokes the Mexican costumes and puppets of Frida, but perhaps more curiously, the paintings of Maruja Mallo and the dolls of Mirka Mora. Now is your chance to own a pair of Ruby Jack OOAK’s 🎥 @abig_sinclair
