🌲 Anakeesta
Mountain views, treetop walks, and family activities
✊🏾 National Civil Rights Museum
One of the most iconic museums in Tennessee
🎸 Graceland
Music history & a glimpse into Elvis Presley’s life
🎢 Dollywood
Rides, shows, and one of the best family theme parks in the country
⛰️ BONUS: Rock City Gardens
Mountain views and waterfalls right on the Tennessee/Georgia border
Honestly one of those trips that gave us a little bit of everything.

Save this to your USA roadtrip bucket list 📲
Ruby Falls (@rubyfallscave ) in Chattanooga, Tennessee is one of the most underrated natural wonders in the entire Southeast and not enough people are talking about it…
Here is what you need to know before you go:
Ruby Falls is America’s deepest and tallest underground waterfall, sitting 1,120 feet below the surface of Lookout Mountain and dropping 145 feet.
It was discovered in the 1920s when a cave explorer drilled into a rock at 260 feet underground, felt a breeze, and crawled through to find a hidden waterfall.
He named it after his wife and high school sweetheart, Ruby.
Your visit starts with a glass-front elevator that drops you 260 feet, 26 stories straight down into the mountain. From there you walk through caverns to reach the falls where they light it up in a full light show. It is theatrical, yes, but the waterfall itself is completely real and absolutely stunning.
Pro tip: Ruby Falls does not sell walk-up tickets so book your timed entry online before heading up the mountain.
If you are planning a Chattanooga trip or a Southeast road trip stop, add this one to the list. You will not regret it.

✨Comment “CAVE” for more info! ✨
🚗 Must-Visit! Family-Friendly Cave & Underground Waterfall Hike! Just 2 hours from Atlanta!
📍 @rubyfallscave is located in Chattanooga and is the perfect day trip from Atlanta!
💦 Ruby Falls is the tallest underground waterfall open to the public in the United States! You are able to take a glass-front elevator 260ft into the heart of Lookout Mountain and hike through the cave on a guided tour to the falls. The hike takes roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes and is very kid-friendly! I would recommend a hiking backpack or baby carrier for little ones however.
🥾 Historic Ruby Falls Cave is an estimated 30 million years old and Ruby Falls was discovered in 1928 by Leo Lambert. You get to learn all about how he discovered Ruby Falls and all the different cave formations throughout the cave on your journey!
🏰 Historic Ruby Falls Castle was built using the limestone removed during the excavation of the elevator shaft! You can actually dine inside the Castle Cafe and my 3yo daughter LOVED that we had lunch inside a castle!
⛰️ Don’t miss the The Blue Heron and historic Lookout Mountain Tower overlooks while you’re there! The views are breathtaking!
🎟️ You can comment “CAVE” below and I’ll send you the link to purchase tickets! I highly recommend booking your tickets in advance as the cave tours do fill up!

One bike. One full day. ALL the Chattanooga magic.
We rolled out on these Wildsyde Electrix cruisers from Dodge City and hit everything — no car, no sweat, just pure electric grins the whole way:
🍕 Mr. T’s Pizza & Ice Cream in historic St. Elmo — slices, scoops, and that perfect foot-of-the-mountain vibe
🐟 Tennessee Aquarium right on the riverfront — parked and strolled in like we owned the place

Silent electric power, fat whitewall tires with those bold red rims, glossy red tank, classic black frame, big round headlight, and that rich brown leather-look saddle… it looks exactly like a vintage Indian Motorcycle that just rolled out of the 1930s.
