Last week, CDM graduated its seventh STEAM Fellows cohort of early childhood professionals! This unique professional development program is led by our Early Childhood Specialist, Erin Townley.
Preschool teachers from a variety of learning environments met throughout the school year to learn about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and implement best practices in their own classrooms. For their capstone project, each teacher designed a special class activation to present at graduation. We are proud of this group and their dedication to STEAM and their students!
A special thank you to guest speaker Ikeko Bass from the City of Chattanooga's Office of Early Learning for the words of encouragement she brought to the cohort.

This semester of Club Discovery was so much fun! Every Tuesday was full of giggles, learning, and exploration in the Museum. Special thanks to our buddy volunteers who were right there with us, leading our kiddos in special activities that spark curiosity and encourage learning.
Club Discovery will be back in the fall!! Until then, join us for Friends' Discovery Camp this summer and experience an inclusive, accessible camp experience led by trained UTC volunteers.

Every year, the Association of Children's Museums hosts the InterActivity Conference, bringing together children's museum professionals from around the country (and the world) to learn and share best practices in the field and inspire one another in this meaningful work. This year, three of our CDM staff shared their expertise on exhibit development, museum strategy, and community engagement.
