Spring has sprung and the sun is shining in Barrett House, thank golly I’m an artist in residence! Join myself, Sepa Sama and Luanne Mitchelmore this Sunday for our open studios and artist talks. I’ll be chatting writing, along with other elements of my practice like petting stray cats, standing on my head, and making to-do lists I will never complete.

Introducing our Playwright Ruby Blinkhorn!
And let me tell you, It should be a sin to be this hot AND funny 🥵
Ruby found out about Cadaver Synod, the Pope who was put on trial posthumously, after googling “craziest things that have happened” and her (mostly kind of true) reimagining is funny, sexy and cutting - the church would absolutely hate it.

This bold debut by Ruby Blinkhorn teeters on a knife-edge between tragedy and hilarity, simultaneously theatricalising the campness of Catholicism and criticising institutional abuses of power. It’s funny, sexy and cutting - the church would absolutely hate it.
In 897 AD, Rome, newly elected Pope Stephen is haunted by the legacy of his predecessor, Formosus, whose corrupt papacy decimated the Church’s public image.
Amidst pressures from the King of Italy, a suspicious number of cardinals “falling” down the Vatican stairs, and the antics of horny priests, Pope Stephen faces an impossible dilemma: either bring the corpse of Formosus to trial posthumously and face eternal damnation, or stay faithful and risk political assassination. What ensues is a bloody crescendo of chaos, betrayal and several dead pigeons.
Like all good parables, some of this actually happened.
🎟️ EARLY BIRD TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE - ticket link in bio.

Stoked to have been part of “Dangerous When Wet”, a new musical-in-progress that (shockingly) has nothing to do with my libido 🏊♀️.
Thank you to the fabulous creative team, to @randwickcouncil , and to the 1912 divas who swam so AKAC could run. Special s/o to Kate, who helped me fall in love with swimming, you're the real-life Mina to my Fanny 🫶.
