🌿VEGAN WEANING👶🏻
Contrary to popular opinion, it is entirely possible to raise healthy children on a #vegan/#plantbased diet. This has been confirmed by so many qualified bodies, including our NHS!
Personally, we went with a #babyledweaning approach, which has worked for us with both children.
Steamed vegetables were a brilliant first food, and then we moved onto roasted veggies, tofu fingers, avocado sandwiches (with @nushfoods cream cheese, it was an absolute hit with Arlo). Once they were confident with all that, we just started giving them whatever we were eating.
A few things we watched out for:
🌿making sure anything containing peanut butter was made using a smooth version
🌿not adding any salt - we use @kallo very low salt stock cubes in cooking for extra flavour
🌿making sure we have a variety of flavours and textures throughout the week - solid, sloppy (like chili haha), soft, etc
🌿opting for nutrient dense choices like sweet potato. BLW means lots of food goes on the floor, so we try to make sure that everything he does eat counts!

"Anständig essen" von Karen Duve war mein letzter Anstoß, endlich vegan zu leben. Genau wie sie (die in ihrem Buch viele Ernährungsformen im wöchentlichen Rhythmus durchprobierte) nahm ich mir ebenfalls eine Woche vor, mich komplett vegan zu ernähren. Diese Woche dauert nun schon über 9 Jahre an. 😄
