@andrewpiccone and @rubymountain invite you to ‘Summer Diary 2’, a one-day show of new paintings by Andrew Piccone on Saturday, May 30, 2026.
‘Summer Diary 2’ serves as a sequel to last May’s ‘Summer Diary’ and follows the same format - 92 6x6” acrylic paintings on wood panels, each marked with a date chronicling the months of June, July and August.
With an expanded color palette, the work features text and bold images - cars, row homes, people, beaches, Acme parking lots, backyards, kitchen interiors - invoking humor and accessible entry points to the larger themes of personal identity, our relationship with technology, reliance on cars, adult friendship, and more.
The show is happening for one day, Saturday, May 30 from 10AM - 6PM, with a reception at 4PM. Ruby Mountain is located at 6782 Germantown Ave in Philadelphia.

Join us on May 9th from 11-3, the day before Mother’s Day, for a very special pop up with local artist Ella Gluckman @prettyportalsjewelry Ella’s earrings are intuitively made using seed beads. No two pairs are alike. They are slow stitched, often while she does the work of motherhood. Her designs come from her fascination with color and the relationships between colors and shapes, patterns and a deep exploration of balance. She envisions her earrings as small, soft sculptures that add whimsy, reverence, beauty and pleasure to your style.
“When you put a seed in the ground, it doesn’t stop growing after eight hours. It keeps going every minute that it’s in the earth. We, too, need to keep growing every moment of every day that we are on this earth.”
-Ruth Asawa
It was such an immense joy to get to gather, play, imagine, and make together with this delightful group of mamas and littles in the beautiful space that is Ruby Mountain Goods @ruby_mtn (thank you Molly!). We sang, moved our bodies, explored the life and work of artist Ruth Asawa and got our hands and hearts moving as we made our sculptural collages. Can’t wait to gather again, keep an eye out for news soon of the next Wellspring Pop-Up coming in May!

Check out our new collection of Oaxacan ceramics by Sara Garcia Mendoza, a talented artisan in her own right and the youngest daughter of the famed Maestro Jose Garcia Antonio and Maestra Teresita Mendoza Reyna Sanchez. Their family studio Taller Manos Que Ven (“Workshop Hands That See”) is one of the most celebrated ceramic folk art studios in Oaxaca.
Over two decades ago Sara’s father, Maestro Jose Garcia, lost his vision to glaucoma. He now makes large-scale forms from memory and imagination and his wife finishes the details. His wife is his greatest love and muse and many of his pieces feature her face, complete with the mole on her forehead. Sara and her siblings work as pottery artisans in the studio, interpreting the family’s themes through their own distinct styles. Most of Sara’s pieces in our collection feature her mother’s face.

Through artmaking, story, song, & play we will explore:
-art making with ordinary materials
-our five senses & the elements of art
-how to train our eyes to see beauty in the everyday
-and inspired by Ruth Asawa herself, we’ll think about how life and art can flow into and out of each other and how motherhood is integrated into that as a way of finding rest and refreshment amidst the chaos of life with littles (even if you don’t think of yourself as an artist!)
