This Friday was last Tuesday celebrating MJ Coreyâs new book âDekonstructing the Kardashiansâ with a little party at Hoffman Donahue.
We loved hosting â congratulations to MJ on this remarkable piece of media theory.
On Friday, we gathered with a sold-out crowd for the Los Angeles launch of @mollycrabapple âs new book, âHere Where We Live Is Our Country: The Story of the Jewish Bund,â in conversation with @hannaheinbinder .
In the spirit of the Bund, this night was a collaboration between so many committed to the culture, spirit, and politics of the Jewish left: @thisfriday.la , @hatandbeardpress , @jewishvoiceforpeace@jvp.la and @goodboywine . And our wonderful readers @anahidnersessian@molly_lambert@salexandero and @elaine.kahn .
Thanks to @smoostrowski for capturing it all so beautifully. And a special thank you to Marvin Zuckerman, the Bundist and grandfather of This Friday co-host @ruby.zuckerman , who led us all in Yiddish song.
A pretty magical evening last night reading, together with Harriet Murav from our new translation â alongside other writers and poets, including @realrachelkushner (who was pretty funny!) â in a literary series called @thisfriday.la run by @ruby.zuckerman and @evanlaffer in Los Angeles.
Hanging out at @ruby.zuckerman âs apartment together with a bunch of flowers for todayâs @thisfriday.la *sold-out* reading @tomoffinlandfoundation . Looking forward to reading with Harriet Murav from our translations of stories by Soviet Jewish writers from âIn the Shadow of the Holocaustâ (@stanfordupress 2026) at the event. With book sales of our title by @storiesbooksandcafe
Second appearance in the LA Times. First appearance (slide 2) was when my buddy The Chicken Man used my name at his brothers bachelor party back in March of â19. Great article Sammy. God Save Taix.
I loved TAIX so much and am very sad it wonât be there the next time Iâm in Los Angeles. Was happy to say a few words for Sammyâs roundup in the LA Times today
