Wow. My heart can barely hold this moment. FLIGHT 182 has always been more than a film. It’s been a labor of love to honor human life, remember the victims of the largest aviation attack before 9/11, and share a story rooted in universal truth. I never imagined that pouring my love for cinema and advocacy into this project would lead me to the people it has…and certainly never imagined icons like Sir Ridley Scott and @archiepanjabi would believe in this story so much to stand beside it.
Their commitment to craft, resilience, and uplifting the next generation feels like fate, not coincidence. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and the little girl in me, the one who grew up in a farm town with parents who worked in the fields, is screaming with joy. In what world could she have ever believed this moment was possible? And yet, today it is.

When you lose your mother young, grief doesn’t just disappear, it reshapes you. You learn how to keep living while carrying an absence that never fully leaves. It’s been nearly twenty years without my mom here in physical form, and yet I feel her in so much of how I move through the world.
She taught me that a meaningful life is one rooted in seva (service to others). Some of my earliest memories are in the halls of the Sikh Gurudwara beside her: cleaning shoes, placing napkins into cups before langar, learning that no act of service was too small when it was done with humility and love. She built community everywhere she went and showed me that showing up for people matters.
Looking back, I realize that lesson shaped the filmmaker and human being I’ve become. It’s why I care so deeply about stories that honor people. It’s why community sits at the center of everything I build. It’s why I keep creating spaces for others to be seen, whether through film, spaces of inclusion or the stories I fight to tell.
Her legacy lives in how I direct, words I write and every room I try to make feel more human.
And somehow, through all the loss, storytelling became my way back to faith; proof that spirit continues, that love transforms and that the people we lose can still guide us.
Today I’m simply grateful for the woman who gave me that foundation. Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. Your lessons live on.❤️

Grateful for this life where I get to be creative, be empowered by those who come before me and those who stand by me. Believing you can go from an idea into actual production and deliver a tangible form of the idea as a piece of visual work is not easy. It’s actually extremely challenging and takes a type of faith in yourself and trust in your ecosystem to understand you can do it.
I recently returned to the @directorsguild for an event and saw my longtime mentor @maryloubelli . We stood in the exact spot where she once told me to claim it and say, “I am a filmmaker.” Over a decade later, I met a version of myself who never stopped believing and who has kept leaping into this world of art without losing who I am.
Along the way, I’ve been held by incredible people. Especially those like @paulah3030 , who made sure I had a place to sit at lunch and felt seen when I first stepped onto a studio lot.
Deeply thankful for the people who pour into my life and make it possible for me to create work that truly matters. 💕
