Two performers fighting for attention… only to realize solidarity is the real power. ✊✨ So grateful to perform this piece, inspired by #PriscillaQueenOfTheDesert, at @artifly_pole for a #poledance charity show supporting @inayabasel — an organization that provides essential, everyday support to #refugee women and gender #queer people in #Switzerland. In times where equality, queer and trans lives are increasingly targeted, showing up, taking space, and creating together is already a form of resistance. ❤️ Sharing this stage with @roylesque was more than just fun... it was for me the chance to connect with a genuinely inspiring human, full of ideas, energy, patience and sparkle. A little desert drama, a little activism, and a lot of love 💃🚌🔥

Roylesque lives in Basel, Switzerland and is a disabled and chronically ill queer artist. They have a background in linguistics and teaching and over a decade of stage experience. It's a wrap (for now) on criptonite: Bioluminescence. @criptonite.insta is a queer crip theatre project in Zürich. Their latest piece, created in collaboration, is set in the post-apocalypse and explores themes of grief, survival and community. There are serious, touching moments, but also humorous and campy ones. Different forms of access such as relaxed performance, early access, touch tour, audiodescription and sign language are integral, aesthetic parts of the piece. The reactions of our audiences have been incredible. What a gift. I'm still overwhelmed and endlessly grateful to have been part of the creative process, to have shared the stage with the super talented @nina_neon @rollingeddie @ff_mm_qq @bdeeprose @monyxgo and to all the wonderful work and support by the magical crew and wonderful consultants including @moin_moin_prod @paulinedellabianca @theresindermaur @salonfrei @denisasvach @bardofnone @queercrippain @immer.noah.nigslos @alexandrinahemsley @alessandroschiattarella @tanzhauszuerich Thank you for allowing me to be me, to feel safe, to learn, to explore, to grow, to feel here. What a season of @cozycabaretbasel ! I was lucky enough to attend many of the shows and had the immense honour of performing my new numbers “Pink Spender” and “Dernière Danse” in March. Performing for such a fabulous audience has been truly magical and healing in a year that has been particularly challenging health-wise.
