Enjoying our new workshop in Castlemaine @themillcastlemaine . We’ve begun working on some Rowsaan projects and have loved welcoming students to make a kitchen knife @twohandsforge . It’s also been so nice to add some of our objects to the space.
Jeonsi, a one night only exhibition is on tonight @onelessdecision . Our good mate Kenny @studiokyss will be there flipping @sangbymabasa kimchi pancakes and we are showing some new work alongside @studiokyss@camerag47 and @eseu266 . Starts at 6 and if we were in Sydney we’d be there! Thanks for inviting us along Kenny, we always love the chance to make new work.

The Rowsaan trays explore sheet metal hand forming to create the curved tray rims and handles. Peened feet float the tray above the table surface and provide a mechanical connection for the two aluminium layers. The steel tray is worked red hot from the forge with hammers until the desired form is reached and then heat textured and blackened. The aluminium tray is annealed and worked cold with hammers so that the two layers nest together and then brush finished.
Always fun to design and make new work. Thanks so much for the opportunity @pip.stevenson x
