Trespass! (2025) has been selected for this year’s Offbeat Folk Film Festival (@offbeatfilm ) Part personal film, part call to action, Trespass! looks into the land workers and activists fighting for the universal right to access land. Through interviews with @right.2roam protestors, Trespass! asks the question: how do you connect to a land your ancestors are not from and explores what it means to push past and resist the boundaries that are laid for people of colour on these isles. It’s part of the ā€˜Infected with the Folk Mind Virus’ programme of films on 11th May at Walthamstow Trades Hall šŸŽŸļø in bio music: šŸŽ¹ @girlhawk_ šŸŖ• sea_li0n

Blessed + thank full for @roweeenn and @daly.shan calling us to gather this Saturday for 🪶🪺🄾CO-CREATING THE COMMONS šŸ“ŒšŸ§šŸ on the land 1-3PM This is a creative workshop centered around sharing how we cultivate a connection to the land and ways to practice that connection. They will conduct a small teach-in to explore ways we have been separated from land through displacement, enclosures, restriction of movement and borders. We’ll then watch Ro’s short film, Trespass! a film that explores connection to nature, land justice and features the voices of Right to Roam protestors celebrating a win for wild camping on Dartmoor. We’ll then explore the garden to collect and record textures through different methods and come back together to create a communal collage whilst reflecting on prompts. TICKETS FREE + AVAILABLE NOW VIA THE LINK IN OUR BIO. šŸ«‚ ✨ABOUT RO & SHAN✨ Ro Rawat is an environmental storyteller and filmmaker interested in people’s connection to land and sense of belonging in nature in time where these things are made to feel very separate. Their practice is rooted in anti-colonial, social and environmental justice which they explore through the recording and sharing of personal experiences and traditional knowledges. Shan Daly is a Scottish designer, facilitator, and researcher exploring ecology and collective care through material, sonic and participatory experimentation. With a background in product and industrial design and a current MA student in Material Futures at Central Saint Martins, Shan’s practice spans sculpture, sound, collaborative installation, and critical design. Rooted in socio-environmental justice and regenerative futures, their work often remixes scientific methods with speculative tools to trace invisible systems of extraction, care, and resistance. Shan is particularly interested in working with clay, sound, and living matter to question boundaries between bodies, knowledge, and environments.Their projects frequently create open-ended, interactive spaces that invite communal play, reflection, and world- building. I’m showing the short film I’ve been working on at this takeover! come see!! I’ve kept this a little under wraps (unless you’re one of the people I pointed a zoom mic or camcorder at) but for the past few months I’ve been part of the ICA creatives in the creative video making term. I’ve been exploring my nature storytelling through video and audio. My work explores people’s connection to land and sense of belonging in nature in a time and place where these things are made to feel very separate. The event is free :) Poster by @daly.shan
