Jazlyne Sabree offers insights into some of the work in Spectrum of Resilience - now through June 27th. "An overarching theme in my work is the idea of the black diaspora community and all of those struggles and sufferings and all of these oppressions that overwhelm us is uncovered that history. These are the stories. This is what took place. There is memory there. I am trying to capture that in the work and then pairing them with these contrasting, juxtaposing images of care, nurturing and healing."
For more about Jazlyne and her work go to the press links in our bio and website: https://www.rowan.edu/arts/museum/exhibitions/js_spectrum_of_resilience.html

As part of our Arts in Health selective, CMSRU students visited the Camden FireWorks exhibit Mending the Seams.
Curated by visual artist and Camden FireWorks Executive Director @jazlynesabree Mending the Seams explores repair, material memory, and the ways we hold together what has been fractured. This experience deepened our understanding of the connection between art, health, and our Camden community.
We learned so much from this powerful exhibition and are so grateful for the opportunity!
