From blueprint to cultural icon 🇨🇦✨
We had the full experience with The Tower That Built a City during the Hot Docs Film Festival. The day started with a screening inside the CN Tower itself, following the incredible story behind the construction of Toronto’s most recognizable landmark, built not only as a transmission tower, but as a symbol of growth, ambition, and identity for the city.
The documentary connects the tower’s history with Toronto’s evolution into a global force in sports, music, film, and culture. Seeing how the CN Tower became part of so many defining moments in the city made the experience even more special, especially during the tower’s 50th anniversary year.
After the film, we joined a guided tour through three different levels of the tower, including the newly opened floor created for this year’s anniversary celebrations. Getting to dive deeper into the engineering, history, and legacy behind this concrete giant gave us a whole new appreciation for it.
We’re hoping The Tower That Built a City becomes part of the CN Tower programming so more people can experience it beyond Hot Docs. Until then… we’ll be waiting for its future release on Crave
