🧚🏻 BE A FAIRY WITH ME 🧚🏻 Who wants to embrace their whimsy and play fairies? 🧚🏻 I know everyone wants to play mermaids but I sometimes want to frolick in the woods, collect acorns, sing with the birds and woodland creatures, and be a forest fairy. Tried something different after capturing this cute little video today 💖✨ #books #whimsy #fairy #nature #bookstagram

Thanks to God and then with the support of the good people and supporters, and with the support of Oklahoma Artists & Makers for Palestine And @_stormypet And @rootsinlibrary Today, many preferred friends and supporters around the world have been able to distribute vegetables to displaced families and alleviate them under difficult circumstances. Every contribution from you turns into a basic need that reaches a needy family, and with your support we continue and reach a larger number of families. May God reward you well for everyone who contributed, supported and participated in this good.

My Bookish Day Out with my best friend, Emily❤️ We both took today off awhile ago to just spend quality time with each other, since life gets busy and hectic in the snap of a finger. We checked out a book store / coffee house that I love every time. Then enjoyed lunch before heading back to talk about everything under the sun. I love Emily mucho ❤️ Left the book store with two books, one my Casey McQuiston and the other by Emma Brodie ❤️. This is the quality time I needed after many weeks of consistent burn out. Take care of yourself and surround yourself with people who bring you joy ❤️. The bags, two shirts, sticker, and book, Victorian House, were all gifts from Emily 💖 #bookish #books #dayoff #reading #bookstagram

🧵 MY EMBROIDERY PATTERNS PICK YOUR NEXT READS 🧵 If you followed me this last year, you’ll know I’ve gotten into embroidery. Although still very novice, I’ve surprised myself with some of the patterns I’ve created either freehand or one that was already made up for me to follow. I’ve done book recs based off of different embroidery stitches, so I figured it was time to do one based off completed patterns I’ve done. The first one is a little knight that my love drew, and I then transferred to embroidery cloth to stitch to life. The second one was a pattern that was already made up and was actually my first embroidery kit that I tackled. The third one is one. I did freehand of my eldest cat Luna - I was surprised at how good this turned out. And the last is one I just did on spare cloth and made a quick flower with the colors of poppies in mind. Enjoy the embroidery and hopefully you enjoy the books they recommend to you 🧵❤️.

RUNNING & READING ARE POLITICAL 🏃🏼‍♀️📚 Another day, another run with lots of bookish flare ❤️‍🔥. Was it hard running with these two books in hand - yes 🤣. But I could not say no to the free library. #running #reading #readingispolitical #bookish #books

MY 6 FAVORITE FANTASY SERIES 🐉🧚⚔️ I saw @littledreamerreader post this literally yesterday and as an avid fantasy I said I would hop on this little trend that she started (even if just me 🤣) If you know me, you know I love the Bone Season to my core. The Burning Kingdoms trilogy is also a TOP fave and so much sapphic love. Legendborn Cycle I started to reread this year but it hasn’t failed to wow me. Celestial Kingdoms is so beautifully mystical too and had my heads in the clouds. The Ending Fire trilogy is also full of sapphic love and so much political intrigue. Finally, An Ember in the Ashes series was devastatingly brutal and beautiful and had me in my TOES the whole time ❤️ Fantasy is my fave genre of all time. So please share yours so I can find more to love!!! Also included honorable mentions that have also captured my heart: Roots of Chaos series, Faebound series, and Unnamed Duology by @msmasoodauthor Currently reading Jade City and about to read Cruel Prince with @vic.book.nook so who knows, might have a seventh fave series coming 🤩 What are your favorites?

APRIL RECAP 🌷🏃🏼‍♀️📚 📚BOOKS: 11 total this month, a mix of formats and nearly half were buddy reads! My top faves were Gender Queer, All Boys Aren’t Blue, Legendborn (reread), and Women Without Men. Mid books were ones that were below 4 stars for me, for various reasons 😬. So most were faves this month! 🎵MUSIC: The Maine’s new album was news to me at the beginning of the month after I saw @bookselenareads shared in her stories about it 🥹❤️. It was everything I needed as a fan of them since 2012. NOAH KAHAN rounded out my month with nearly every song in his new album hitting the mark and chord. Thank you to @nostakesbookclub for insisting I listen to it immediately. 🎥 FILM: I have slowly been getting through The Pitt season 2 with my love. Did I have my eyes clothes during most of the medical gore? YES! Was the story and plot still everything ? YES!!! As for Anne with an E, I mean I made a whole niche book rec post on it, go check that out for more of my thoughts 🥹💖. 💖 HIGHLIGHTS:I ran a 5K at the beginning of the month and got hot cocoa at the end. I also took full advantage of the cherry blossom tree I have in my front yard before the petals came down and my lawn became Barbie’s dreamland. I went to my first book influencer event last Tuesday at @readsandcompany . I felt blessed to have been invited and so thankful for all the gifts from them and @sourcebooks . I celebrated Indie Bookstore Day Saturday with a few local spots, @kissandtaleromancebookshop & @inkwoodnj . ALL IN ALL, a great month ❤️

4 things that remind you all of me 💖 bookish and beyond 😌 Happy Sunday bookish people ❤️ I asked a week or so ago for four things or words that reminded you lovely readers about me and some of you answered 💖. I also texted my closest friends offline and they gave me some words to include. Lastly, my love gave me the final four 🥹💖. He’s biased about my booty 😂❤️. I love that compassion, some whimsy, running, and Heated Rivalry were common responses ✨. Oh and Moo Deng, my eternal queen. What are four of your favorite books? Or four words you would use to describe yourself?!

Shannon’s Indie Bookstore Day Adventures 💕 I had a 2 year old birthday to go to most of today so only had time to hit up two local indie book stores 💔. I did two of my local ones, @inkwoodnj & @kissandtaleromancebookshop Both had fun elements for today, like raffles, spinning a wheel to win prizes, and free arcs with a purchase! I came out with 6 books, one shirt, stickers, and a beach bag for books 💕. Although I couldn’t go to more stores today, I will always support indie over the rest 💕. How was your Indie Bookstore Day?!

This Saturday, April 25th, mark your calendars for the Independent Bookstore Day celebration at @readsandcompany Last night, Reads and Company and @sourcebooks hosted a delightful event for some of us guests to preview their elements for this special day. It’s become one of my favorite indie bookshops in the tri-state area, thanks to a coworker who introduced me to them. They offer a wide and diverse selection of books, and their welcoming and friendly staff makes the experience even better. I had the chance to play Plinko for a chance to win a prize, and you can too if you visit Reads and Company this Saturday to join the celebration with the staff! I won a $10 gift card, which I immediately used to buy two additional books. How could I resist? The event was filled with engaging activities, including meeting other great readers, participating in trivia, and receiving thoughtful swag bags. They even took the time to select books based on our reading preferences, which made the gifts even more special. The heartfelt notes they included in the swag bags melted my heart. Thank you once again @readsandcompany & @sourcebooks for hosting such a wonderful time and welcoming us with such positive energy. I can’t wait to return to Reads and Company on Saturday and explore their vast collection of books. #indie #independentbookstore #bookstagram #books #book
