The Studio Build
Way back in 2017 we were lucky enough to come across the @totalrefreshmentcentre , the space we now call home. @lex_blondin gave us a portion of a room here and we quickly set about designing and building our new home.
8 years later and we’re still here. No small thanks to Jacob Bojcun and @grilled_jheeze who led the build, George and Reece who sorted our electrics, @maxyyyb and Alfie who looked after the plastering, @melysma__ who wired us up, and @kawaii_purp , Jake, and the rest of the gang who helped us along. Last but not least big up @sonny_jake for making this film
Having our own space has been a game changer. So much amazing music has come from such a tiny room and so many talented people have come through these doors. It just goes to show how important freedom is to creativity.
10 years in the making. Long live root. The best is yet to come.
THE PEOPLE’S FESTIVAL. AUG 16. GILLETTE SQUARE
Join us for a day of Solidarity where Joy is Justice.
We have been working with @hackneypsc@feltsoundsystem , Centre for Knowledge Equity and the Gillett Square community to bring a truly ethical festival to life, raising money for our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Sudan, Congo and Haiti who are going through a genocide.
As an organisation we believe art and music have always been a form of resistance and justice, and have always been used as vehicles of hope for those affected by systems of oppression
We’ve pulled together a beautiful line up who have come together to stand in opposition to the oppressors and in solidarity with the oppressed. Now all we need is the people to come down too
