Late post my birthday was May 8
Another year around the sun.
As I look at these portraits captured by Donte Maurice @dontemaurice 🙏🏾 for his Art of Human Expression series, I see more than just images — I see survival, growth, healing, and resilience.
I see a man who has carried pain, disappointment, silence, pressure, and sadness… yet still found a way to keep going. A man who has learned how to turn struggle into strength and uncertainty into purpose.
These photos remind me that even through the darkest seasons, something stronger was being built within me: discipline, faith, wisdom, compassion, and endurance.
I’m not the same man I was years ago — and honestly, I’m grateful for that. Every setback shaped me. Every lesson refined me. Every storm revealed parts of myself I never knew existed.
This birthday feels less about getting older and more about becoming. Becoming more grounded. More intentional. More fearless. More at peace with who I am and where I’m headed.
So Grateful . Grateful to still be evolving.
