Mountain gorillas share 99.4 percent of their DNA with humans!!! They are devoted to their families, and when you go gorilla trekking in the Bwindi National Forest (aka Impenetrable Forest) in Uganda, you can see the love. The families are known to the guides and trackers and conservationists, and they each have names. Many former poachers have flipped and are now trackers devoted to conservation. But most of all, seeing the mountain gorillas in the wild is a feeling, unlike any other. And yes, there are bugs—but there is bug repellent! There are thorny plants, but there is protective clothing! We share 99.4 percent of our DNA with these creatures—can you even imagine??
