It seems like a lot of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ wound up on the cutting-room floor…
Which makes sense given how jam-packed with cameos the film already is. Still, recognizable actors can be spotted lingering silently in the background, and several moments from the trailer seemingly never made it to the big screen.
So, a proposal for David Frankel: release the director's cut! Swipe through to see some of didn't make the final edit, then head to the link in bio for a full rundown of every scene we were robbed of. 👠

Eileen Gu’s Met Gala bubble dress is just one example of designer Iris van Herpen's boundary-pushing craftsmanship. A new exhibition of van Herpen's work at the Brooklyn Museum, “Sculpting the Senses,” will open this weekend — showcasing over 140 pieces spanning her career. Ahead of the opening, we caught up with van Herpen to discuss fashion as an art form, her work with high-profile clients like Beyoncé and Ariana Grande, and her thoughts on creatives using AI.

If you need proof of how quickly recent history can be flattened or forgotten, look no further than the thousands of people melting down over Olivia Rodrigo’s babydoll dress this week. She's not the first musician to embrace the vintage style — particularly as a tongue-in-cheek commentary on the exploitation of women and girls — but the intensity of the reaction, @brittanyspanos argues, speaks to a specific cultural tension that’s playing out on both sides.
“Rodrigo’s fashion statement comes at time when both conservative and liberal netizens have united in mutual paranoia verging on hysteria about the sexualization of young people,” Spanos writes

This month at @metopera , @isabelleonardny takes on Frida Kahlo in ‘El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego,’ a role that asks her to step into one of the most recognizable artists in the world without reducing her to a flat image.
In the lead-up to opening night, Leonard welcomed The Cut into her dressing room to chat about performance-day discipline, protecting her voice, the 15-year juggle of motherhood and opera, and why Frida Kahlo feels especially suited to a medium where every feeling is already exposed. Above and at the link in bio, how she gets it done.

All it took was a single video. Writer @danya.issawi had been battling cystic acne for several years when she was sent a TikTok of someone claiming that their mattress — the same one Issawi slept on — was causing their similarly terrible breakouts. The mattress company, the research, and dermatologists insisted the bed was safe. But thanks to this one viral video, and the underlying acne anxiety she already had, Issawi's mattress went “from place of rest to place of stress overnight.”
At the link in bio, Issawi writes about spiraling out over a theory that her For You Page insisted was fact, and what she learned about the mattress — and her own internet-induced anxieties — along the way.

Surprising no one, the war in Iran is jacking up prices around the globe, pushing inflation to a three-year high. For the millions of people whose salaries aren’t keeping pace with the rising cost of living, the choice is pretty clear: It’s time to cut back. But where? Gym memberships? Streaming services? Dining out?
