“Is L.A. a theater town?”
we know the answer. just look at all these bold, creative theatres defying odds every day. we are so grateful to be on this list and we are totally framing that illustration. 🥹
and if you happened to grab today’s October 22, 2025 issue be sure to check out the entertainment section for an article on ai, grief, and anthropology 💅🏻

✨please show it some love so the algorithm tells the editors that we are interested in information on LA theatres: the big and the small.
✨fairview must close may 3. no more extensions (believe us, we tried but scheduling a cast of 8 in-demand talented actors is near impossible).
we have some tickets for saturdays and sundays. all other days are all sold out.

⚙️The Engine Room is a new playwriting program from Rogue Machine Theatre designed to help the next generation of writers grow, connect, and build their careers.
⚙️We are seeking diverse, emerging storytellers with strong voices, bold ideas, and limited access to the professional theatre world, particularly those who have aged out of youth arts opportunities. This program is designed to support writers at an early stage of their artistic journey.
⚙️Selected writers will meet weekly from mid-May to mid-July 2026 to develop new one-act plays under the guidance of playwright, actor, and theatre professor Tanya Everett, culminating in a public staged reading with professional actors. @tanya.everett
⚙️There is ✨no cost ✨to participate in this program.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a maximum of 50 submissions accepted. The form will close once that limit is reached. We encourage you to submit as soon as possible.
⚙️Eligibility • Ages 18–25 • Based in or able to participate in Los Angeles (in-person required for some sessions) • Emerging writers without significant professional production history encouraged to apply
🔴Application Deadline: May 7, 2026

✨”Progress happens only when institutions choose to make room for underrepresented voices, year after year. We have the honor and responsibility to ensure that the stories we tell reflect the full breadth of who we are. Rogue Machine has always been a place where bold voices are met with trust and craft is taken seriously.
I’m deeply proud of this Roundtable and grateful to Justin and Guillermo for listening and for making a year like this possible.” says the Roundtable’s Director, Lina Patel.
