I envisioned creating a series of elegant objects full of inviting contradictions, that engages the participant to use their own mental constructions together with the latest BCI-wearable, while playing a compelling audiovisual game about the ethical future of BCIs.

I spoke at @espacioftef in Madrid about The NeuroRight Arcades.
Part of Hoy es un buen día para hablar de Derechos Digitales, curated by @domesticdatastreamers , with works by @driesdepoorter and @matt_clark_uva .
On busy days, more than 100 visitors go through one of the full introspective experiences. Over the full exhibition, more than 10,000 people will have engaged with this Spanish version of the work.
The installation uses BCI (brain-computer interface) headsets and live neurofeedback to explore NeuroRights within the broader context of digital rights.
Visitors complete an experience and receive a printout of their brain activity. The system that raises awareness also operates within the same logic it questions.

I’ve been selected to give an artist talk at ISEA2026 in Dubai.
The presentation builds on The NeuroRight Arcades as a four-year trajectory that opened a broader inquiry into how neurotechnology can function as a medium for introspection rather than extraction.
The project has been presented at Ars Electronica Festival, Sónar+D, Science Gallery Monterrey, Espacio Fundación Telefónica Madrid, and other international festivals and institutions.
I will be in Dubai from 10 to 19 April.

SpaceX wants to deploy a million data-center satellites in orbit now!
I recently made an interactive installation that engages this exact question from the level of perceptual experience.
This single-screen installation presents a server rack drifting and rotating in deep space on a wall-mounted screen. Visitors continuously stabilise the server’s motion across three axes using three industrial joysticks on a freestanding control pedestal, while a spoken monologue unfolds from the machine’s perspective.
The work reflects on environmental pressure created by AI, data centres, and cloud infrastructure, and on the speculative narrative of sending servers into orbit. It puts the visitor in sensory and temporal situation that invites reflection on how far technological systems might be pushed to sustain computational growth on Earth.

💡 While shipping the arcades from @werktankfactory in Leuven, Belgium would be possible but incredibly costly, the team at TEC has suggested recreating them in Mexico! 💡
😢 Unfortunately, due to the unexpected and devastating impact of Tropical Storm Alberto, the museum suffered some damage, forcing the postponement of the exhibition to December 4th. 😢
😌 Maarrr not so sad about the fact that I’m going to Mexico during the Belgian winter after all! ☀️🌴
