"What Do Elementary Particles Dream Of?" is a show that questions the mysterious correlation between quantum physics and consciousness. The performance is illustrating the fascinating hypothesis that elementary particles, which are the very foundation of our universe, may occupy a multitude of potential states simultaneously until they are measured or observed. This concept echoes the bizarre nature of quantum mechanics, famously exemplified by Schrödinger's cat—a thought experiment that illustrates a cat in a box that is simultaneously alive and dead until someone looks inside. The act of observation has a dramatic effect in the quantum realm; it collapses the wave function, a mathematical description of the quantum state of a system. This collapse seemingly selects one possibility from among many, giving us a single outcome. "What Do Elementary Particles Dream Of?" questions what realities exist beyond our perception? What dimensions of existence are we blind to? A key feature of the performance is the use of live Electroencephalogram (EEG) data from a volunteer in the audience. This brainwave monitoring technology captures the volunteer's cognitive rhythms, and these in turn dynamically modify the performance's music and visuals. The joint residency at @buda_bxl with @ofer_smilansky was a great success. It provided us with the chance to perform real-life testing of our tracking technology. Our system, which merges LiDAR and machine learning, is capable of tracking individuals in real-time over large spaces, capturing and transmitting data on their position, orientation, velocity, and stable ID via OSC and Posistagenet. The system will be available for rent shortly. Additionally, the residency period was productive in conceptualizing and designing several new interactive installations. We recently collaborated with artist @aseelalyaqoub for her installation at @dafmoc in Riyadh. Centered on a "Secret Lake" west of Riyadh, the work explores a seasonal body of water that lives forever on satellite imagery but vanishes from the earth. Our studio developed dual generative systems of decay.. Aerial Logic: High-resolution GIS imagery undergoing structural degradation and "machine memory loss." Ground-Level Decay: Field photography softening and desaturating to mirror the fading of human memory. In this 40-minute cycle, the landscape is constantly being rendered and forgotten. A collaboration between Tyrell, Laurent Delforge of None Studios and choreographer Ben Fury, Escape is an audiovisual piece that explores our relationship with technology and self-image in modern society. Combining dance, electronic music and generative video, the work uses advanced technologies such as @touchdesigner and Unreal Engine to create interactive visual environments in real time. These tools allow the dancers' movements to be synchronised with dynamic projections, creating an unprecedented multi-sensory experience. More than a performance, "Escape" is an artistic investigation into new forms of narrative, blending the codes of cinema, dance and audiovisual performance. This crossover of disciplines paves the way for an innovative way of telling stories, where visual and aural immersion redefines the audience's perception. The piece also questions our technological headlong rush as virtual worlds become increasingly tangible, and the frantic race they impose on our daily lives. Annihilation is our audiovisual performance that has already captivated over 40,000 visitors. Three years ago, @jonas.margraf and I found ourselves in quarantine in Bahrain during the COVID-19 pandemic, where we conceived the idea for this performance to depict how technological advancement is leading humanity towards its demise.
