“Connecting apparently disparate thoughts — often hilariously. Igniting the spark of linguistic spontaneity. Finishing each other’s sentences, not with pre-programmed ripostes but with just the right turn of phrase, sharpening and refining their endpoints like a new form of punctuation. The banter continues for some time after our interview ends. RODAISUN inspires the reassurance that there will be no last word.”

Production continues on 𝓐 𝓢𝓽𝓸𝓷𝓮 𝓓𝓲𝓪𝓻𝔂, our forthcoming documentary on the poet Pat Lowther. We had the honour of interviewing Joy Kogawa - an iconic Canadian writer and one of Pat’s close friends in her Toronto home. Our conversation moved through memory, poetry, friendship, and reflections on Pat’s writing and life. Joy is still writing every day, and printed me out a poem she had written that morning ⭐️

At the heart of the writer’s block workshop is a room of artists working with & for each other, in a collective moment of sound & suspension.
RODAISUN has been and always will be a structured framework for us to experiment freely in our practice. To coax out the voice within the voice, the one that is carrying the seed to essential spirit.
Thank you Japhy for capturing the sweat and focus of this sardine can mind ⭐️ your submissions have been inspiring us! (More on that soon)
