Here we redirected those ideas, filled the shadows with heavy color, let the key direction run wild, and embraced the imperfections. When working on a project with strong VFX, there’s an aim to keep the image honest. Without distraction, strive to convince your audience there’s a human behind it.

1 Year of “Hit Me Hard And Soft” The soundtrack to the best year yet. Karla and I just couldn’t figure out the song to our first dance… The morning after the album release, I turned on a song, and asked, “What about this one?” She said, “Yes.” We’re so grateful for @billieeilish creating this beautiful album, and having the opportunity to help bring her visions to life. Thankful for everyone who worked on all of these projects, and looking forward to the many years ahead of people finding this record, and falling in love with it, just as much as we have.

🌹Rob and Karla, Thank you again for choosing me as your photographer and giving me the opportunity to photograph a wedding as incredible as yours. Your wedding was a unique creative and artistic experience for any photographer. And all your friends and family were lovely. It was like being on the set of a Hollywood movie, with plenty of glamour, red, stylish guests, the best photocall in the world, tears, laughter... and as a good filmmaker and custommer designer, the best wedding dress and lighting design. You live in Los Angeles and I know it will be difficult for our paths to cross again, but here you will always have a home to return to. The repetition in this song inspired us to multiply Meg and the dancers in this dance centric performance video. It started with Colin and I going over all the shots we wanted to achieve, and timing them out to make sure it was physically possible. The final video consisted of 5 main shots: 1. Opening half of 1st verse 2. 1st Chorus 3. 2nd Chorus 4. 3rd Verse 5. Final Chorus These videos show the genesis of the shots, from dance rehearsal, programming, and final product. Tips: When drawing up your approach make sure you limit the amount of track repositions you have to do on your day. We were able to get away with only 2 main positions, which also afforded us more time to get more setups. For camera I went with a lightweight zoom. 1 for weight, 2 to utilize a zooming effect, and 3 to have room when programming. At times you find yourself out of reach with the arm and to get a little closer or further away you can hide the distance with the zoom. Blocking is key, getting marks and making sure you have height specific stand ins to lineup to can be half the battle. Thanks to the entire crew for jumping in the shot to make sure the marks were right! Big Thank You to brotha Simon, the best in the game. Couldn’t do it without ya! Daps had a strong vision of keeping every shot alive, wild and energetic. Zooms, cranes, spins, rolls, body cam, 360 cam, RC car, whatever we could dream up we went for, and thanks to the incredible production team, we were able to pull it all off! Working with NBA players you get a very small window to do it all, and we found a way! To get techy here for a minute… We had 3 main cameras that needed to change all the time, and to streamline that workflow we went with this plan… A camera lived on the Stab Head, wherever that head went, from Crane to Dolly, to Rickshaw, etc… B camera stayed in Rialto mode on the Venice. It mainly bounced from using the massive 12x FF 36-435, and had to quickly transition to handheld with either long or short EZ zoom. Brilliantly operated by my man Oliver! He had to play ball with the likes of Embiid and Giannis, cause for a vertically challenged person as myself, all we would’ve seen was up their noses. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤣 C camera was a Red Komodo and used for all of our rigs, RC Car, Rollerblading, etc… Shout out to our op Mike! Even though this was shot in the last few days of summer we had the great fortune of braving almost every weather condition as well! 😅 Strong winds, Hot sun, heavy clouds, terrential downpour, thunder storms, and our crew really held our ship afloat! To wrap this up, there was a lot of laughs, epic pickup games, and some great memories taken away from this shoot. Thanks again everyone! ☀️⛈️🌪️🏀⛹🏾⛹🏼‍♀️🚕🙌🏽✌🏽

It’s that time of year… @iamhalsey “Love and Power Tour” Creative Direction - @tarikmikou Director - @juliendemersarsenault_perso Photographer - @yasi Production Design - @araewebner Gaffer - Scott Moody Key Grip - @mynor_rocks 1st AC - @cleofilms & @a_dorris Production - @momentfactorymusic & @hkcorp One of my favorites from 22’, rarely do I get to work on live music projects, though I enjoy the challenge of reaching an audience in a completely different way. I absolutely loved the album “If I can’t have Love, I want Power”, the production of it was beautiful, cinematic, devastating, and had so much range for gripping visuals. I tip my cap to Halsey for being a trooper through all the blood, honey, water, spider webs, etc. she really went through the gauntlet, and allowed us to experiment, and push these concepts. When “throwing it at the wall to see what sticks.” becomes reality. Shoutout to @yasi on the photos! 🤘🏽🔥
