The Voidsync Lumina is a sci-fi-inspired piece that gives discarded tech new life as a light and visual art display. At its core is a recycled LCD panel, set within an LED frame that functions as both a dynamic backlight and a soft wall wash. The visuals are high-contrast and abstract, drawing attention & curiosity to the LCD’s newfound transparency in a deliberate, minimal way.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Robert Rigo aka ‘robbot 5000’ is a creative technician and lighting designer based in Toronto, ON.
With special interests that are geared towards real-time visuals, interactive displays and electronics/ robotics, his work is technically driven and inspired by the pursuit of merging art, design and science.

The goal was a fast moving and fluid visual set that never gets performed the same way twice. Aiming to supplement the music without shifting the focus away from the dancefloor while still pushing technological boundaries and forward thinking yet nostalgic and immersive aesthetics.

The Lifeform Analyzer tracks visitors entering the exhibit, providing interactive, visual data on their exploration. It also encourages interaction among visitors by linking data points, encouraging conversation before entering the main room.
