@irish_goodbye_live is a rad little acoustic duo from South Jersey consisting of @bryan_mccloud and @mrhaletron . The duo came about when John dropped his daughter off at Bryan’s on a daughter play date. John thought he knew Bryan from somewhere and it turned out they had a mutual connection with the local reggae group The Liberi, now known as @headhighac . That sparked the conversation on music and since both Bryan and John are cheer dads they thought they might as well play music together too. Growing up in the 90’s the two share many of the same music tastes but also some differences that adds to the music they play. Some of the musicians that you’ll hear covered during an @irish_goodbye_live performance include Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Sublime, Blink-182 and many 90’s favorites… songs that go well with a drink in your hand. You can find @irish_goodbye_live playing at many of the local bars and breweries year round with their next show on 4/24 at @boccanj . They also perform at parties. One of my favorite stories is one where Bryan was playing at a summer party when the food truck caught fire. Bryan who’s a fire fighter in @ocnjfirefighters without wasting anytime, stopped playing, assessed the situation and quickly helped put out the fire. He then went on to play the rest of the set without blinking an eye. Johnny Cash would approve. Keep these two proud cheer dads’ music dreams alive and give them a follow @irish_goodbye_live .

At Home and in the Studio with Artist and all-around Good Human, Jim McHugh I first discovered Jim’s art (aka @mcillustrator ) on Instagram of all places. His artwork always caught my eye, featuring illustrations of some of my favorite musicians, actors and iconic spots around Ocean City, New Jersey like the Wonderland Ferris Wheel, Strand 5 movie theatre and Rookery. I eventually bumped into Jim in real life at @anchorrockclub during a pretty epic @deadmilkmenofficial show which began the start of a beautiful friendship based on our mutual love of music, film, art and cats. The best way I can describe Jim is a mix of Mr. Rogers, Bob Ross, and @thejeffbridges The Dude blended into one which is exactly the kind of person the world needs right now. Jim’s house is a great reflection of himself and art. I enjoyed getting to capture Jim in his home with his wonderful and adorable black cat, Pip. After enjoying some tasty sounds of @khruangbin and @nationoflanguage , Jim and I headed over to the Ocean City Rookery where Jim got behind the lens for some birding. It was a pretty perfect day.
