For this installment of Through the Lens, weāre looking at the work of @boris.acket from a completely different angle. Weāre spotlighting a series of unseen images taken by his father, @rob.acket . These photos span everything from the scale of the Fred again.. tour down to the quiet, sometimes frustrating moments of testing in the studio. They offer a private look at the parts of the practice that usually stay hidden.
Thereās a natural cadence to this archive. Boris grew up following his dad around on production sets, watching him work. With this series, the lens is turned inward. Rob has spent the last few years capturing the messy, unpolished side of Borisās practice, the failed prototypes, the late nights, and the reality of building things that move, to create an intimate dialogue between father and son.

Daytime examples of our new research project āESTUDIOS CHROMADYNAMICA INMATERIALā. (2025) w/ @felipepantone
_
While the project is rooted in Felipeās practice in his organising of paint, light and colour it is rooted in mine through my research of bending light through lenses, prisms and mirrors. I recently āfoundā this effect while shining āwhiteā through a powerful RGB COB LED into a very tight fresnel lens in a new version of TRANSMUTE, an installation I was working on. The volumetric results were astonishing, I loved the way how colour pushed itself through a focal point, mixing and bending to new immaterial results in the space in front of the lens.
The colour schemes made me think of Felipeās practice, which Iāve been following for years and years and whose colour usage and techniques Iāve greatly admired, so I decided to reach out.
Our collaborative goal is now to create immaterial colour studiesādynamic environments where the properties of light, colour, lens, and space converge. Rather than static images, these installations function as continuously evolving systems, positioning colour as an active material in three-dimensional space.
Weāre still very much in experimental phase but this daylight version ā with a volumetric painting from the wall ā is very close to a version Iād like to present some day :)
