What a WILD South Eastern Utah adventure we just completed led by
@diffcomms , and joined by a host of brands and amazingly talented individuals.
We traversed hundred of miles off-road, full of epic trails, fun and slightly sketchy rock crawling, thunderstorms, hail, and some of the darkest starry skies in the entire country. This adventure was amazing and definitely short lived, and this
@frontrunneroutfitters equipped TRD Off-road 4Runner proved its evolution over the previous generation by leaps in bounds in utility, power delivery, and because it is the Hybrid, its formidable power supply used for both powering the fridge and powering camera gear.
Having looked at the forecast in advance of this trip, we knew it would eventually rain, but not to the level in which it did a few times. The
@firestone Destination MTs absolutely performed in the heavy mud we encountered.
This 4Runner now has
@goosegear ’s rear storage and sleeping platform, and made for a much more restful night during the rain. I elected to not use the tent for those few nights, saving me from having to dry it in the morning.
My first car was a 2nd gen 4Runner, and contrasting how far Toyota has come with this platform, like properly far, with the power delivery and sport mode off-road just feels surreal considering the fully loaded adventure weight.
I’m thrilled to have gotten the chance to travel this way, apart from my normal setup. It makes me question what is really the ideal overland camping setup, and quite frankly for an SUV, this 4Runner is it.
