These two pieces will be going up at @aplomb_gallery in Dover, NH! Opening May 1 at 5:30 pm. Definitely check out the show if you’re in the area, the other artists in the show make awesome work and the gallery is part of a lovely wellness and art space for trauma survivors.
I put together this page for @punkcakealternoart ’s latest release, Punkcake Zine Volume 9!

Cut It Out
Paper, clipper and razor blades, and acrylic on canvas
I have a strong drive toward thrift, toward saving money, preventing waste, and minimizing environmental impact. I started cutting my own hair in 2011 and taught myself to shave with safety razors, the most economical option, when I went on testosterone in 2014. I never know whether I’m practicing a noble asceticism or treating myself as though I have no value. Using waste from my hair trimming habits, I made Cut It Out to explore this ambivalence.
Community Trash 27
2026
Mixed media art waste (acrylic, paper, beads) on canvas
For number 27 I did something I very rarely do: add text. Specifically, spelling out snippets of phrases that repeat in my head when I’m anxious. #relatable?
Disco Objects (Compulsion), 2025
Origami paper, papier-mache, acrylic, and mirror tile
Modular origami and ‘disco objects’ (unconventionally shaped objects with reflective finishes) have long been two of my less serious creative hobbies.
Every winter since I was a child, I’ve found myself compulsively folding origami paper into Sonobe modules, making 12 to 120 of the same module to assemble into polyhedrons called kusudama.
Disco objects emerged from my desire to control and beautify my limited environment at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when I was convalescing from spinal stenosis and reluctantly living with my parents again as an adult.
For Compulsion, I brought modular origami and disco objects together into one entity. It should be the ultimate comfort object, but it seems a bit too sharp for that.
Community Trash #25 (Black Rose)
Mixed media art waste (acrylic, spray paint, plastic and wood detritus) on canvas
This one is so called because I accidentally made it a similar color scheme to the Thin Lizzy album cover of the same name by @jimfitzpatrick .
Community Trash #24 (Harvey), 2025
Mixed media art waste (acrylic, paper towel, foam) on reclaimed plywood
This one is a nod to Harvey Ball, a Worcester local and the creator of the happy face. 🙂
Community Trash #23, 2025
Mixed media art waste (acrylic, paper towel, paint tubes, brushes, pens/pencils) on canvas
I made this as a “baby sibling” to that big paint tube piece I finished earlier this year!
Community Trash #22 (FUCK), 2025
Mixed media art waste (laser cut wood, silk flowers, polyfill, miniature supplies) on reclaimed plywood
You could say I really gave a fuck with this one. Thanks to Adam at @technocopia for the f-bombs!
