Wire crochet for a little creative project, this one will take some time to complete because this process is very time consuming. Thanks to @hildegardhaide for the introduction to this craft 😊❤️
I started building these case during Covid to store my own facial hair collection, since then I’ve built many for people all over the uk and I normaly operate a waiting list because they are built in batches to order between jobs. These cases continue to get better and better every time I build one although inflation is making them more and more expensive to produce. This beautifull custom build will be heading to its new owner soon and with this post I’d like to thank everyone who has bought one of my cases over the years❤️
The 6 week job that became 6 months. From 1 opportunity I take home countless memories with old friends and new. The chance to experince Budapest, Jordan and the duneiverse along side you all has been a total privilege. To be surrounded by such skill daily has been so rewarding, humbling, inspiring and enriching. I don’t know what I did to be surrounded by such phenomenal people, but I’m very pleased to have been invited. Finaly meeting “the legends” that I have heard Kate speak so fondly of and to now count you as friends really is the greatest gift I could imagine. My uk chums I’m sure I will see again and the same gos for my Hungarian barátok. Who knows what the future holds? I know one thing for sure no matter what it delivers I will look back on this chapter we shared with great happiness.
A very short turnaround on this little wig for a stunt double. 1.5 days to shop for supplies and put this wig together without my wig making kit. Love a wee challenge thankfully I was surrounded by very supportive team members who pitched in with getting this done on a tight deadline. Special thanks to my wig building partner and local material advisor @noragulyas without whom I would never have got it completed in time.
We all do things a little differently and although it’s a basic skill I don’t remember anyone ever demonstrated this to me as a trainee. I hope some of the newer members of the makeup community find it helpfull.
It’s been a busy and blessed year so the socials have been very quiet. Blessed to be working with old friends and mentors again. Blessed to have made new friends on my adventures and even more blessed to be growing, learning and developing alongside them all.
But even now in the Christmas hiatus I’m pushing forward with little personal projects like finishing this little franken wig. It’s been sat in the cradle for three months untouched and it’s now very almost over the line and in the stock box. Aiming to inspire my current cohort of bectu mentees @tanyaelaine_hair_makeup@eringrace.makeup and @leannib__ to keep pushing forward with there progress and goals to make 2026 a year of achievment.
Some new additions to the hairdressing kit from @scissorhandsuk . My twin sister @maxinemcarthurhair has been a long time user of Ashley and linda’s scissors for many many years. Quality tools to suit every price range and servicing and maintenance second to none. Ashley comes from a long lineage of hairdressers and is a great educator. If you feel like your current scissors aren’t cutting it for you then a chat with the team @scissorhandsuk will get you the right tools for your working style.
Waving goodbye to the beautiful city of Budapest, this morning . 🇭🇺
Three months in this wonderful city working with old friends and making new friends.
