it’s the end of the year and after going through my prints in the studio, I found a few more of these one-off cyanotype prints from my “these hands” series. Would love to send these off to anyone who’s been wanting a print/work of mine. Love when I have the opportunity to make my work accessible to the community ✨ (5x7 + 4x6) available for purchase. $75 // DM for inquiries

fam + community: I must relocate as soon as possible from an unsafe housing arrangement that I am currently suffering through. Anyone who has been able to share time, a meal, a dance, a moment…with me in any space that I’ve lived in prior to now knows how much I adore the space I call and make home. I’m no longer able to rationalize the beauty of my space, the neighborhood, my garden…against the unprovoked terror + violence that I have experienced in a space that I call home over the past few months. I’ve been in a dissociative state of shock and fear and disbelief until a most recent act of violence occurred this past weekend.. With this urgency upon me, I’m reaching out to community and fam that are willing and able to help out in any way. I must find a new place to live. My dear friend, Roselyn created a Gofundme, to help support this effort: https://gofund.me/4ce49576 [clickable link in my bio] You can also donate directly through Venmo + Cash App. Venmo: /u/foreverrikk Cash App: https://cash.app/$RWPhotog gratitude + love [all slides are some of my favorite images of me + home]

Rebellion and beyond celebrates films of the “Insurgent Sisters” of the L.A. This Sunday Sep 15th, free and open to the public, all ages welcome! 11 am–12:30 pm Infinite Imprints: Memory Objects and Archiving the Body
Led by Rikkí Wright with Barbara McCullough  Explore imprints of body, spirit, of plants and memory objects to examine what is left after presence. How does the impact of cityscape and erasure caused by eminent domain and gentrification conjure memories that are more than ephemeral?  Find memory making practices in connection with Barbara McCullough’s Water Ritual #1: An Urban Rite of Purification, which was filmed in an area in Watts that had been cleared to make way for the I-105 freeway but was ultimately abandoned. With transference and usage of memory objects, scanning, cyanotypes onto various digital and physical surfaces and materials, images and memories are transferred, reimagined, and recollected – yielding conceptual prints, cyanotypes, and 3d imaging into collages. As part of LACMA’s Aspect Ratio film education program and following the insurgent tradition of the L.A. Rebellion film movement, join us for a day of workshops and in-depth discussion about filmmaking techniques, ethics, music, and storytelling, featuring filmmakers from the Insurgent Sisters film series and beyond. making a film about home while being away from home has been a difficult task. there’s something to be said about being on location while piecing together a story with so many parts and intersections. I have been given the opportunity to go back home (alabama) to work on finishing a project that has been waiting to be complete. I do believe that it is necessary for me to finish filming this documentary while in the south. where i will be able to conduct and organize/finalize the missing parts. i’m reaching out to my community to help me raise funds for traveling expenses as to go back to alabama to complete filming “i shall not want”. any donation will help immensely: /u/foreverrikk https://cash.app/$RWPhotog stills from’i shall not want’ on location: alabama.
