Daniel Fleur will be featured in the upcoming solo exhibition, “All My Jewelry” at Anthony Gallery’s Amsterdam location. Drawing from a deep well of traditional artistry, Daniel Fleur’s (b. D.R. of the Congo) paintings marry time-honored techniques with narratives quintessentially rooted in our contemporary epoch. His commitment to realism, honed through extensive training, acts as both a tribute to and a tool for exploring the nuances of the modern human experience. The subjects and themes, seemingly everyday at first glance, dive deep into the intricacies of pleasure, beauty, materialism, and societal hierarchies. This intentional ambiguity in Fleur’s creations challenges viewers, pushing them to ponder reflect, and question. Each painting is a tapestry of tales, capturing the complex, multifaceted, and often contradictory emotions and aspirations that define our shared human journey. Opening Reception: Friday, May 22nd from 18:00–20:00 CET. RSVP at the link in bio! We look forward to welcoming you. ______ @danielfleur Image Courtesy of Daniel Fleur Anthony Gallery Prinsengracht 405-H 1016 HM Amsterdam Fri – Sun, 12:00 – 18:00 ______ #AllMyJewelry #DanielFleur #AnthonyGallery #AnthonyGalleryAmsterdam #AnthonyGallery2026

AMSTERDAM—Anthony Gallery is pleased to announce “All My Jewelry,” a solo exhibition by Daniel Fleur. Opening May 22, 2026, the exhibition explores the intersection of beauty, material desire, and social hierarchy. Fleur bridges art history and contemporary visual culture by applying the meticulous techniques of the Old Masters to modern fragments. In this series, the polished surfaces of jeweled adornments stand in sharp contrast to the softness of the body, creating a visual tension between material and flesh. Moving beyond his earlier ambiguity, Fleur engages directly with shared visual culture—from cinematic touchstones like Breakfast at Tiffany’s to icons such as Princess Diana and Pharrell Williams. Through these works, adornment operates as a visual dialogue across multiple registers—intimate and performative, personal and collective. Objects of desire emerge as sites of negotiation, captured in the fleeting tension between the rush of acquisition and the eventual slip into the ordinary. Opening Reception: Friday, May 22nd from 18:00–20:00 CET. RSVP at the link in bio! We look forward to welcoming you. ______ Daniel Fleur @danielfleur Anthony Gallery Prinsengracht 405-H 1016 HM Amsterdam Fri – Sun, 12:00 – 18:00 Artwork: Daniel Fleur As Seen, 2026 Acrylic on linen 23.625 x 15.75 in. 60 x 40 cm. ______ #AllMyJewelry #DanielFleur #AnthonyGallery #AnthonyGalleryAmsterdam #AnthonyGallery2026

On View: “Life Imitates Art” Nate Young is an interdisciplinary artist whose work challenges traditional artistic production by engaging with issues of race and racialization. He explores how systems and objects shape beliefs, often addressing theological themes through text, diagrams, and architectural elements. By stripping away specific content, Young creates a universal lexicon of primordial signs—such as arrows, circles, and grids—that suggest meaning while remaining open to viewer interpretation. His meticulously crafted works embody a quiet gravitas, prompting a post-minimalist examination of authority, materiality, and the artist’s role. Born in 1981 in Phoenixville, PA, Young lives and works in Chicago, IL. He holds an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a BA in Visual Arts Education from Northwestern College. Young is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago and has participated in notable exhibitions, including those at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and The Studio Museum in Harlem. His work is part of several prestigious collections, including the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. In 2021, he received the Joyce Foundation Artadia Award and is currently featured in the Tacoma Art Museum. Young’s “In Black Untime #20” is featured in the group exhibition “Life Imitates Art,” curated by Hank Willis Thomas. On view through April 11, 2026. On View: “Life Imitates Art” Alec Egan (b. 1984, Los Angeles) lives and works in his hometown, where the city’s cinematic atmosphere and luminous palette deeply inform his practice. Rooted in storytelling, his works transform domestic interiors and landscapes into staged psychological spaces. Through thick impasto and dense patterns, mundane objects become charged with memory and longing. Egan’s paintings unfold like chapters in a visual novel, each depicting a room in an imagined home. Recurring motifs—boots, vases, books—create emotional continuity, inviting viewers to piece together a narrative around an absent inhabitant. His maximalist surfaces, recalling mid-century interiors and the traditions of William Morris, transform decoration into a metaphor for the instability of memory. Drawing from LA’s design vernacular, his work bridges fiction and reality. Though grounded in the material world, Egan’s work often tips into the surreal: waves flood carpeted rooms and spatial logic dissolves into dream. These moments of rupture mirror the isolation of domestic life—particularly against the backdrop of climate precarity. Themes of voyeurism blur the line between observer and subject, casting the viewer as both witness and participant. Egan’s “Net Bag” is featured in the group exhibition “Life Imitates Art,” curated by Hank Willis Thomas. On view through April 11, 2026. On View: “Life Imitates Art” Tony Lewis (b. 1986, Los Angeles) lives and works in Chicago. In an ever-expanding engagement with drawing, Lewis harnesses graphite powder to confront social and political topics such as race, power, communication, and labor. The material provides a literal and conceptual foundation, as it is stretched, smudged, and spliced across found surfaces. Graphite is an inherently unruly medium; Lewis nurtures this dispersal, allowing the powder to settle upon and mark paper indiscriminately. For Lewis, the graphite-slick studio floor is a “tool the same way a pencil is a tool.” Early in his practice, Lewis created site-specific floor drawings, but his move to the wall was prompted by the discovery of Life’s Little Instruction Book (1991). Enthralled by the book as an artifact of conventional American wisdom, Lewis realized its code of ethics promoted a blind regard for authority and made loaded assumptions based on gender and race. By reproducing these pages as large-scale wall drawings rendered in black screws and graphite-soaked rubber bands, Lewis exposes the covert authoritarianism of American culture. In his latest series—a “stepping stone” to poetry—he collages altered cells from the comic Calvin and Hobbes, pushing the boundaries of the “material” of language. Lewis’s “Worth” is part of the group exhibition “Life Imitates Art” curated by Hank Willis Thomas. On view till March 28, 2026. On View: “Life Imitates Art” Okey Ofomata’s (b. 1997, Los Angeles, CA) paintings delve into a deeply introspective and multifaceted exploration of narrative and mood, intertwining personal history with broader social commentary. The artist’s process begins with crafting narratives that span diverse locations and ideas, unified by common thematic threads. Drawing from a rich array of references—including films, literature, and personal observations—Ofomata creates works that traverse emotional landscapes marked by frustration, anxiety, reflection, and introspection. This emotional spectrum is balanced against settings that contrast the figures’ states, allowing moments of satire and reflection to emerge. Recent solo exhibitions include You Should Get Some Sleep at Anthony Gallery, Chicago, IL (2025), Okey Ofomata: Respite at M+B, Los Angeles, CA (2024). Selected group exhibitions Nice To Finally Meet You at Good Mother Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2024), 30 Years of New Image Art at New Image Art Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2024), and Until it’s faced at New Image Art Gallery, Los Angeles, CA (2023).
