For the past three years Ottilie Patterson has been an ever present fixture in my mind. I knew her remarkable story would make a good piece of theatre but I could never have imagined how far the journey would take me. There are so many people to thank, too many to mention everyone here (if you put up with me banging on about it you deserve a medal) but I would like to single out a few. Jazz Heritage Wales, Belfast Stories and
@pfitzer1 Joanna Braniff and Noel McLaughlin for their early and ongoing support in keeping the Ottilie light lit. To
@ian.mcelhinney for the production support and wise words.
@matthewpmcelhinney for the brilliant collaboration across it all.
@zakirvine_ for the exceptional score.
@jolene_o_hara ‘s incredible performance deserves a special post in and of itself, it really is the best I’ve ever seen.
From the reading with
@racheltucker01 @themacbelfast everyone on the fantastic team at the Belfast Festival last year to Iwan, Liam and the team working tirelessly on its run at the phenomenal
@thebarntheatrecirencester You are all incredible.
It can be a rough ride in the North trying to drag a script you believe in to the stage but the creative network is strong. I’ve seen Ottilie’s legacy shift so many perspectives over those three years that it makes me proud of every single one of those voices of support.
And finally, thank you Ottilie x
