Saori Kurioka, born and raised in Kobe, Japan, cultivated her artistic sensibilities from an early age. In 2003, driven by her passion for photography, she moved to the United States to expand her artistic horizons. She attended the International Center of Photography and Brookdale Community College, enriching her expertise in photography, studio art, and fine art within the vibrant environment of the New York metropolitan area.
Over the past two decades, Saori's work has consistently garnered acclaim, earning prestigious awards from the International Photography Awards (Lucie Foundation), The Prix de la Photographie Paris (Farmani Group) and more. Her photography has been exhibited internationally, including notable venues such as Art Capital at the Grand Palais in Paris, Artexpo New York, Pré-Bienal Amazônia/G20 in Rio de Janeiro, and the "Side by Side"exhibition during the Venice Art Biennale. Initially celebrated for her poetic black-and-white film photography, Saori has evolved to masterfully convey the intricate beauty of both the natural and human worlds through vibrant colors and thoughtful compositions. Her work transforms everyday moments into profound visual experiences, reflecting her deep appreciation and respect for the beauty inherent in all aspects of life.
Currently residing in Brooklyn, New York, Saori continues to create compelling fine art photography. Her approach remains rooted in her belief that capturing the fleeting beauty of life's moments is an act of love toward creation itself. In her words, "For me, to capture the moment that moves me is to express my love toward Creation. I am always listening to the rhythm of all Creation.”
