Rabsha, aka Hussain @davechannelle blends psychedelic techno and bass music into atmospheric soundscapes traversing the edge between dystopian wastelands and ethereal dreamworlds. 👽 R&D resident Shantiism will be opening up the dark psychedelic ritual. She has made textured waves in Chicago’s techno scene with her curation of dark, sinister, and ethereal soundscapes. Shanti has been recently touring around the U.S. sharing her bewitching soundscapes. 🖤 R&D is enthused to bring you a post-movement ritual for inquiring minds and devious dancers. 🤓 RA link in bio. @swan_drama started his DJ journey in the mid-2010s, throwing underground raves in Moscow. A co-founder of KOR (@kor.z0ne ), he focuses on creating a contemplative yet visceral dancefloor experience, blending hypnotic and brain-stimulating sounds across techno, bass, and glitch. His key influence is the idea of defamiliarization (ostranenie): using subtle disruptions in familiar elements—rhythm, voice, space—to pull listeners out of habitual listening. Rather than reinforcing expectation, his sets introduce slight displacements that make the dance floor feel unfamiliar, opening space for new ways of perceiving sound.

🏙️ CB Asher (“Cam”) @camascher is a techno DJ who moved to Chicago in the summer of 2024. 👽Since that time, he has immersed himself in the underground techno scene. Inspired by the Midwest underground, Cam’s sound is firmly rooted in techno, with hints of drum n bass and an experimental bent. 😵‍💫 This mix begins with some halftime techno at 128 bpm. Then, the bpm is transitioned to 85/170 for a segment of alternative dnb, which occupies the peak of the set. Towards the back end of the mix, the bpm is transitioned back to 128-130, and the mix is finished with a short selection of straightforward techno. 😎 Sit back and let Cam’s journey consume your consciousness for our 154th R&D mix!

Thursday evening at the @whistlerchicago for @research.n.development . Very honored to play amongst friends for a party I have admired for many years. It’s been exciting preparing for this weekend, and my back to back gigs. ( @sanctumchicago Vampire Ball Afters Saturday) . Since nothing is pre recorded , each experience is unique for myself and for all of you. Incredibly rewarding way to be one with the Snake Eater, uncovering more of the hidden mythology behind it all. #chicago #music #snakeeaterise #electronicmusic #allmyeaters #shedyourskin

Yessi is a Colombian-American DJ, producer, and multidisciplinary artist. Her DJ and live electronic sets contain wide ranging references and combine a distinct DIY, anti-establishment ethos with deep reverence for music history and ancestral sound traditions. Her style on the decks is playful and unapologetically freaky, weaving together diverse sonic references from her cultural heritage and experiences in queer nightlife across the three U.S. cities she has called home–– Houston, Pittsburgh, and now Los Angeles.
