JS Alvarez has a wide spanning yet uncompromising approach to music collecting. He tastefully weaves sets ranging anywhere between leftfield proto-techno, dashes of EBM and industrial, mutant electro and broken beats all the way into the depths of spiralling techno. His sets carry weight and darkness yet donât feel oppressive, rather dance-able and playful in their twists and turns.
JS Alvarez runs the notable podcast and event series Research and Development which features artists from Chicago and beyond including all over North America! A fixture in his own city at venues such as Podlasie and SmartBar, he has also played notable festivals such as The Great Beyond (MN), and we canât wait to hear what he has in store for us.
Associate has one of the deepest collections of music we know and manages to seamlessly blend their extraordinary taste of midwest techno, dub, freak acid or wormhole-weirdness. They are a true musical chameleon, yet each corner of their sound and their attention to the mix has a distinct Associate touch.
Associate is the mastermind behind Midnight.FM which contributes excellent programming to underground scene of D.C featuring and playing alongside artists such as Stingray, Carlos Souffront, Shaun J. Wright, Patrick Russell to name a few⌠You know, real head shit.
Supporting the night we are graced with a long anticipated Adam 2 DJ set, in addition to fellow PPRZ label head DJ Hockey closing it out and Untorn delivering her signature smouldering techno, this night is curated with Substance in mind!

For the @touchdesigner.yvr prompt of âWISPSâ, I took a video of a wispy cushion blowing in the wind, used tops to pops to turn it into a point cloud, and practiced lighting to create shadows and used plenty of rgbadelay in post processing.
