Given the honors of closing was a big deal for me. I haven’t been that nervous to play in a very long time! As soon as I started I felt the love in that room. Impeccable sound and an open minded crowd, I was comfortable enough to go in any direction musically.
Being a part of this event was a dream. All of the other artists that played blew me away, A++! And of course thanks to everyone that makes this incredible party happen @__bbmmgg__@amber.gillen@erikadotnet and so many others. My heart is so full and I’ll never forget this one. Detroit I love you !
Focusing in on Mozhgan, mesmeric goddess of the hypnotic groove — who is closing Samhain XXV — on Nov 1 in Detroit — 2 rooms at Tangent fully transformed by Amber Gillen and the Infinite Dimensions crew with full audiophile sound rigs that immerse you in the sound by Jim Gibbons AVS. We start at 9pm and go until 9am, at 2:00 time becomes a loop and we go back to 1:00am, gaining an extra hour for the party. Come experience the transformative energy of Samhain XXV as we traverse between dimensions.
It feels strange to post about a party when so many horrible things are currently happening in the world, but Sunset Campout has always held a special place in my heart and this is the final one. We need it.
I’ve been attending this magical event since 2009 and have been lucky enough to been invited to play so many times. There’s nothing like it.

Mozhgan: Iranian born but California based Artist/DJ Mozhgan has been honing her dark arts on the decks for quite some time. In 2011 she started “We Are Monsters,” a party to develop her passion for
contemporary, dark, and mysterious dance floor sounds.
Mozhgan is a sonic alchemist who’s musical languages traverse between mysterious planes and wondrous vortexes. Her singular technique focuses on uncanny juxtapositions of sound that seamlessly unify and project spiritual light, creating luminous pronunciations that voyage deep into the shadowy spaces of the subconscious. As an acolyte of the acidic temple, and founder of the We are Monsters gatherings, Mozhgan fearlessly confronts the onstricting limits of the status quo while simultaneously rejecting them with arcane spells that defy time and space.
Solar: It’s easy to avoid tired tropes when talking about Solar. The typical cheeky embellishment of an artist biography is simply unnecessary in this case.
He’s been a prime player across several decades of the Bay Area’s underground dance music timeline. He’s an experienced, skilled, and creative selector - one who makes the well-worn quip of a “DJ’s DJ” seem pithy and redundant. As a part of Sunset Sound System, he and his partners have peppered California and beyond with 25 years of thoughtfully conceived and carefully crafted events, chief among them the delightful and dreamy Sunset Campout. He presents spacey, tough, intuitive, and often psychedelic music to the universe via his (and C.L.A.W.S.) label, Squirrels On Film. He’s delivered focused and inspired mixes to myriad curatorial collaborators including Dekmantel, Resident Advisor, Boiler Room, and Rush Hour.
Most of all, though, he’s a person of passion, consistency, dedication, and skill who can make your party a better place by sharing his spirit, creativity, and vision.

In 2017, @rural.jp brought me to Japan for the first time for a club event and I had the honor of closing the festival with Solar the following year. Playing for this crew is incredibly special and their care and attention to detail is always above and beyond. I’m very excited to contribute to their mix series and had so much fun making this - hope you enjoy !
