Great to join many friends in Canton for the Annual Town Meeting. Very grateful to Canton Town Moderator, Dick Staiti, for allowing me to provide a brief update on our joint effort with our State colleagues, @massgovernor , @paulfeeneyma , and Rep. Bill Galvin to ensure that Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children remains open for children with complex medical needs and the families who rely on the support they receive at Pappas. I also had the opportunity to acknowledge outgoing Town Manager Charlie Doody and the Canton Select board, who played key roles in helping Canton qualify for more than $9 million in federal funding through ARPA and other federal appropriations, which were used to fund essential projects including water infrastructure improvements, equipment for our first responders, and HVAC upgrades to the Hansen and JFK schools.

It was a full house tonight at Coakley Middle School for @townofnorwoodma Town Meeting! Extremely grateful to Town Moderator Gerri Slater for the opportunity to provide an update on the current situation at Norwood Hospital. With the help of @senatormikerush and Rep. John Rogers, we will continue to fight to reopen Norwood Hospital as a full-service, nonprofit healthcare facility. Sincere thanks to Members of the Norwood Selectboard, Robert Donnelly, Amanda Grow, Michael Saad, William Plasko, and Matthew Lane, and to the residents and volunteers of Norwood for your dedication and hard work.

While regularly voting by mail himself, @potus Trump recently issued an executive order directing the @uspostalservice to determine which mail-in votes will be counted and refuse the delivery of any ballot cast by otherwise eligible voters if they are not named on newly created federal voter lists which will severely restrict the ability of senior citizens, overseas service members, disabled veterans and other American citizens to exercise their right to vote. In support of voting rights and election integrity, I recently introduced the Vote by Mail Protection Act to invalidate this unlawful and partisan executive order and prohibit the U.S. Postal Service and other federal agencies from using any taxpayer funds to restrict voting rights.     I am thankful for the support of @public_citizen , the @lettercarriers , the National Postal Mail Handlers Union, and the @postalsupervisors , who have endorsed H.R. 8666. I am also grateful to my colleagues on the @oversightdems Committee and the Congressional Postal Caucus for supporting this important legislation – including @reprobertgarcia , @repnikki Budzinski, @repchrispappas , @rep_walkinshaw , and @congresswomannorton .

Great to see “democracy in action” at a crowded Westwood Town Meeting on Tuesday night.    Had a great opportunity to hear from many residents on the issues that matter most to them. Good to hear that the special Committee to consider different approaches to the Fire Station # 1 (FS1) has made some progress. I am grateful for all the volunteer work involved and I remain keenly interested in their findings and recommendations.    Thank you to Town Moderator Jim O’Sullivan, Selectboard Chair Marianne LeBlanc, Clerk Joseph Previtera, new Town Administrator Connor Read, and the residents of Westwood. It’s encouraging to see such a great turnout!

I will be voting NO on the reauthorization of FISA Section 702 until we see explicit protections for civil liberties and ensure that our federal intelligence agencies are operating within the law.

Today, on Workers’ Memorial Day, we commit to making workplaces safer in remembrance of each worker who lost their life or has been injured on the job site. As a proud member and former President of @ironworkers7 and vice-chair of the Congressional @labor_caucus , I will always fight for our workers and support legislation that strengthens worker protections and enforces safe working conditions.
