This week, I had the opportunity to speak with the Caterpillar team about the importance of a strong surface transportation reauthorization bill so we can continue to support our local infrastructure and good paying union jobs for folks in Central Illinois.

It was great meeting my dear friend from Chatham Dave Kimsey and the team from the American Hotel and Lodging Association to discuss how we can work together to encourage more people from Illinois and around the country to visit our district and enjoy all our communities have to offer.
Democracy only works when everyone’s voice is heard. Every community deserves fair representation – not maps drawn to silence voters. Democrats will continue fighting for fair and free elections.
Yesterday, I was honored to accept the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) Leadership in Government Award.
I spoke about the work I’m doing to protect benefits and care at the VA, uplift the stories of our women vets, and ensure veterans remain at the center of every decision made at the VA.
Year round E15 is the solution! I was proud co-lead the effort to get H.R. 1346 get across the finish line to ensure new markets for our growers and lower prices for consumers.
Since coming to Congress, I’ve fought to make year-round E15 permanent. It’s a win for our farmers, a win for consumers, and a step toward lower prices at the pump.
That’s why colleagues and I demanded Congress act NOW to get this done and deliver the relief our growers and hardworking Americans deserve.
