American engineer striped fabric, AKA Hickory Stripe or Railroad Stripe, originated from durable, indigo-dyed cotton mattress ticking used by the working class, especially railroaders, in the late 19th/early 20th centuries. Its stripes disguise dirt, and the denim makes for a super sturdy base fabric.
When paired with the humble apron, it's creates a workwear classic with Americana roots.
Rco has proudly carried the Engineer Stripe apron since our inception.
