Refrakt (@refraktstudio ) is a Berlin-based artist collective and design studio founded by Alexander Govoni and Carla Streckwall in 2015. They are working on transmedia projects in mixed realities at the intersections of art, design, technology and models of perception. AR became their main focus over the past couple of years, both in applied and conceptual projects; In a digital society, where technology increasingly starts to shape our perception and behaviour in everyday life, their work focuses on the nature of the medium itself. 🟡 At MANIFEST:IO 2025 Refrakt shows the Berlin premiere of "Sacred Grounds," an AR installation that presents a digital mineral landscape to be explored by handheld devices all starting from a lightbox installed at the exhibition venue and accompanied by an in-App reader.
