For the Minnesota resistance âœŠđŸ©” How do you take down a fascist state? You have to pull and push at its pillars from all directions— some from the middle; some from the sides. I’m so inspired by all my people and the solidarity blossoming from the middle and all the sides today. In Yiddish: Tsuzamen / Together Kenen mir aroys / We can escape Zol zayn a sho, a tog, a vokh / Be it an hour, a day, a week Er vet shoyn faln faln faln / It will fall fall fall Der tsefoylter alter yokh / That rotten old yoke. Original song L’estaca by LluĂs Llach written in 1968 against the fascist dictatorship in Spain. This text, Der Yokh, written in Yiddish by Yuri Vedenyapin and performed/popularized by The Klezmatics, who are playing here. The song has been sung in Belarusian, Polish, Hebrew, Basque, English, and its original Catalan. Video recorded December 6 2025 @theklezmatics at @dakotampls in Minneapolis

And we’ll all go together 💚 Originally this folksong tells about a wish for love and completeness, picturing the home you’ll make with a dear one or dear ones, if that day would come to pass. Now the song resonates differently. Of course we’d scheduled all this release etc etc long ago; but actually I’m grateful this song is bringing itself out into the world at this time. “And we’ll all go together” now depicts all the beloved ones who are wholeheartedly building the home in our community that we all dream to live in. We’re harvesting the bounty of our commitments and of our dreams, even while the ice is still on the ground. Summertime is coming everyone — hope this song is a balm for the ears in the meantime. Vocals: @sophiejavna @julia.w.hobart @jagoda_larsson Remix by @lazerbeak Original engineering by @yesterato_wolfe Mixed/mastered by @professorcmusic Cover by @partly_cloud_e Trio photo by @ruski_couch Featuring real mountain herbs from the border of Bulgaria & Greece, harvested by auntie Marija Streaming now in all the places!

When I stand up for immigrant neighbors, I feel deeply that I’m standing with my people. (Not some “other”, not some random charity.) This post is mostly to call bulls*** on MAGA language about “criminals” and “fraud.” They say they want “good people” and “people who love our country” but that is just code for race. Keep our eyes on their own words; this comes from their anxiety about losing power; it’s about “they shall not replace us” Anyways keep telling the truth. Also I’m going to drop off some $$ for neighbors who own and work for mom-and-pop businesses that have been closed due to the ICE surge. If you want to contribute to that, I’ve got a link in my bio. đŸ«¶đŸ’Ș

YIDDISH DEEP LISTENING: A night of Yiddish song, archival samples, and guided movement in Minneapolis RSVP at link in @milkyjammers bio Friday, May 15, DOORS 7:30pm, MUSIC 8pm Calvary Baptist Church @ 2607 Blaisdell Ave $10-30 at door via cash, Venmo or PayPal (NOTAFLOF) We’re excited to invite New York-based Kleztronica artist Chaia for an evening of somatic movement and Deep Listening, grounded in Yiddish samples and song, alongside Minneapolis artists Miri Villerius and Sarah Larsson. The evening will kickoff with a guided movement session by local klezmer, journalist and Deep Listening practitioner Miri Villerius. Miri’s Deep Listening instructors come from the lineage of Pauline Oliveros, IONE, and Heloise Gold and have included Leila Ramagopal Pertl, Brian Pertl, and Stephanie Loveless. Then, Chaia and Sarah Larsson will lead a listening session through time featuring archival samples of Yiddish folksongs and live vocals. The duo will create meditative arrangements of Yiddish folksong, blending old recordings of Yiddish singers, interviews, and environmental field recordings with their own renditions of the songs. Framing the physical space will be an art installation by Kohenet Riv Shapiro exploring water as a site of global communication and solidarities. You’re invited to stop by their MFA thesis exhibition reception at MCAD before the show to see more of this work! 6pm — 2201 1st Ave S. Poster by: @studioharamat

Sarina Partridge appreciation day â˜șïžđŸ„°đŸ’—đŸŒž @sarina.partridge and her group Heartwood are raising 💰💰for the album recording of their show The Well Tree - if you’ve seen it you know, it’s the real deal tear jerking crowd singing smile laughing gorgeous kind of work we all need right now. Also its one of those springy days where Sarina is probably out peeking at skunk cabbage and bloodroot and writing songs about the new baby spring plants; every day should be Sarina appreciation day but why not add one extra one into the mix đŸŒ·â˜˜ïžđŸŒ±
